Man urinates on dying woman, declaring it 'YouTube material'

From the "Annals of Modern Depravity" comes this sordid story:

Shouting, "This is YouTube material!" a 27-year-old British man urinated on a dying woman who had collapsed on the street, the BBC and local Hartepool Mail and Northern Echo tell us. He also doused her with a bucket of water and covered her with shaving cream.

The woman, 50-year-old Christine Lakinski, died at the scene of pancreatic failure.

In a sad sign of the times, it was all recorded on a mobile phone.

In court, Anthony Anderson said he had smoked a joint and been drinking with two friends when they spotted Lakinski. He faces jail after pleading guilty to "outraging public decency." Sentencing is set for Oct. 22.

"We will await the outcome and just hope he gets what he deserves," Lakinski's brother said after today's court hearing.

Well it's a novel way of resuscitation anyway. Srsly-the whole Happy Slapping mobile phone recording is getting well out of hand.

If it had been made up the phrase "man urinates on dying woman" would have been wonderful. Unfortunately here it described an actual event. It's interesting how in some accounts the woman was disabled, while in others she was carrying laminate flooring and in a few she was both.

One article said that until 2004 offending public decency carried a maximum life sentence. Admittedly, that's a UK life sentence which means about 15 years, but still 15 year for something which stops short of actually harming anybody is a bit over the top.

Mouseketeer 09-27-2007 09:59 AM

That's a story you hate to love.

It really is grim 'oop norf.

right-track 09-27-2007 10:05 AM

There's nowt wrong wit norf!

And besides I think that article describes Hartlepool and not Hartepool as printed.
Which is in the North East...Geordieland...which would explain all.
If my history proves me right, then I think it was the people of Hartlepool who hung a monkey many years ago, mistaking the monkey for a French spy.
Sad, but true.

Mouseketeer 09-27-2007 10:17 AM

Yes, that is true.

I went to see a football match there once, all I remember is a lot of grey buildings and cold weather.

"Been out drinking with some friends" he was probably paralytic by a normal person's equivalent, then again I don't think there's ever a Geordie without at least a pint of alcohol in his system.

Bane of your existence 09-27-2007 11:46 AM

Yes, I love Geordie humor too.

holdyoualways 09-28-2007 11:17 AM

blech
i remember hearing something on the radio about kids in my area video taping themselves driving through fast food places & ordering a super large drink & then throwing it back at the people & driving off & posting it on youtube
i totally forget what they called it or else i wouldve put that up instead of all that mess
but yes, people are retarded, point made

Sad, but true.

According to QI a few weeks ago it's a myth.

The whole monkey hanging thing apparently was a story made up by a neighboring town

Did no one in England have the decency to stop him? :)

jackhammer 09-28-2007 11:54 AM

We are slowly turning into an apathetic society sadly.
