Does anyone ride a street bike?
 

Just wondering if there are any riders here? If you do, what kind?

I drive a car, they're better.

Bikes are more fun and saves on gas.

Obviously never driven a Mini then. 35mpg and the most fun you can have on four wheels.

No cant say I have but I have wanted to for a while now. Just a test drive. Yeah a lot of friends have been in accidents lately...nothing serious but too close.

thats a nice car. They are so small though. You pay a lot for insurance? Is it considered a sports car?

I've only been driving for just over a year, and the engine is pretty powerful for the size of the car, it's a 1.6 when everything else of similar size is nothing more than a 1.2. Plus they are expensive cars, so my insurance this year is £1500, about $2500 I'd estimate. Plus I don't live in a particularly desirable area, which always pushes insurance costs up over here.

Still wouldn't swap her for the world though, best thing I've ever bought in my whole life.

WOW~ But I am assuming you have lots of fun with her? Now, over here gas is f*ing outragous right now and a bike saves a lot on that. I also have a car(eww) I would prefer a truck. ( no I am not a hick) P.S. I am jealous of you. I like your pertty car.

:D thanks. My dad rode a bike but he crashed it when I was little and was in hospital for ages, so that spooked me on them for good.

My ex actually picked out "Katie" up there, and we had tons of fun in her, so the car kinda reminds me a lot of her and the good times we had, plus when it's clean in the summer, people just stare at it sometimes. Which is cool in a show-off type way, especially round uni, with all the other poor students walking, mwahahahahahaha.

You do realise that gas over there costs half as much as gas over here does, don't you? Please don't say it's outrageous until you've seen the prices we have to pay.

I have never been over there (btw~ where is over there?) before so I have no idea. They are crazy prices for us right now. Also the cars you all have get better gas milege, right? I could be wrong, just curious. LEARN ME!

Over there is Birmingham, right in the middle of England. Basically all our fuel is heavily, and I mean HEAVILY taxed by the government, about 85% of the price of a gallon of fuel is paying for the fuel tax put in place, as opposed to about 12% in the USA. Over in America I believe you pay around 45p a gallon for normal, unleaded petrol, whereas over here prices are on average 85p a gallon.

The majority of cars over here are similar to the majority of cars over in the USA. We don't tend to have quite so many SUV's and other gas guzzling giants, but they are certainly on the increase.

Latley there is nothing but SUV's and huge diesel trucks. It is all about image here...California. I want a truck to go 4wheelin' in. Thats crazy about the price of gas.

Do you have the supercharged mini?

:D I wanted to get one, but the cheapest insurance quote I got on a Cooper S was £5300 a YEAR ($8000).

Suffice to say I didn't fancy paying that much, so I've got the Cooper instead, which can still hit 120 and the 0-60 time isn't too far behind the Cooper S.

One day I'll part-ex the one up there and get a supercharged one, and if I can afford it, a convertible one at that. The ladies love a Mini. :D
