Your Experiences as a Teenager During the 20th Century

I'm writing an album, and to not lengthen this with unnecessary reasoning... this will actually help me.

Nothing too big, just tell me what you felt about you and the world around you way back when. The whole 'American Dream' (hard to explain... the whole 'the world is just wide open and waiting for me' thing) that all teenagers -regardless of where they are from- have. Then, compare it to how you are/think now.

Keep it within reason, but include whatever (also put the decade you were of this age also).

Example:
Quote:

"Back in the 60's I did [Insert hippie activities here]. I personally thought [insert political/social changes you liked/hated]. I wanted to be a [insert optimistic hippie profession here]. I miss growing up, [insert random nostalgia here].
Now, however, I [insert yuppie activities here]. I personally think [insert political/social changes you like/hate]. I am a [insert cynical yuppie profession here]. I miss growing up, [insert random grumbling]"
:band:

P.S. PLEASE READ
If you somehow feel the complete and utter need to just start **** (Proggyman, other trolls), find another thread. I'm doing this for research purposes.

The youngest person eligible for this I think would be 27 give or take (being a teen in the 90's).

Nothing?

Then either no one is old enough, everyone here is a troll, or no one can be ****ed to type anything... o_O.

I'm not so sure we have many people that fit that age range. MURDER JUNKIE I think would and if he does he'll reply because I just called him on it and to not reply would be rude.

I suspected as much, and 13,300th post!

Actually, one part of this experiment is noting that people never really do change regardless of generational gaps (hell, people are wearing clothes now that look 40 years old).

So, I guess anyone can reply now, seeing as that will at least get me something to work off of.

Plus, teens have had the same pointless issues since the beginning of time, so it might be better to have people who are actually experiencing them write something.

I can just take whatever you guys post and place it into a more 'vintage' setting.

I like listening to music, some stuff from the 90s I like is like, Morrissey, Neutral Milk Hotel, Modest Mouse, Elliott Smith, Belle and Sebastian, etc. I like to read and ****, like the new york beats, kerouac burroughs, etc and, **** the romantic poets like wilde, byron and stuff. I write alot and like to wnader around town and sleep on park benches. I don' know i'm kind of in a weirdmood right now. I like 80s movies like, Gremlins and Neverending Story, I watch those alot. I don't know what I want to do with my life.

"Back in the 60's I did not do a whole lot because I was merely a gleam in my fathers eye. I personally thought that if I could make my way out of my father's nutsack and penetrate my mother's uterus that I could have been born sooner. I wanted to be a firetruck and just within the past few years I realized that this is no longer possible. I would miss growing up if I ever learned to do so.
Now, however, I live life amongst the rest of the rancid mouth breathers. I personally think there are way to many people breathing up all of my good air. I am a reluctant member of the global village and think that we may need to thin the herd a la deer season. I miss growing up ignorant"

Is this what you had in mind??? :D

If you are around 33, then you were a teen in the 80's >_>...

I just gave the 60's as an example.

Oh, I'll try harder next time.

I will do this seriously when I have a chance but I should warn you that it's not very exciting. You should PM right-track about this he was a teen in Manchester when a lot of really cool stuff was going on. I'm in Canada for Christ's sake, Canadians don't even know what's going on
