There is definitely a bit of that, the love thing is there, the distance between two people, the separation and only form of communication is non physical, words, digital, letters, information. And then there is the sense of eternity, everything. I am glad you picked up on the interstellar thing, even though I had not thought of it while painting it, there are a lot of parallels in it. Funnily enough I was only watching interstellar (for the sixth time!) last night, introduced my parents to it. :P
