I'd just wanna draw them all perfect like but then give them childish scribbley dicks.

or you can make a drawing where if you look close it's made up of tiny scribbley dicks

Erm, I'd say you have plenty of talent just on those few drawings, maybe what you lacked is a drive and a sense of calling to be an artist. And stuff.

Nice work, double Em!

Thanks guys, @adi you're absolutely right about lack of drive and discipline, but I'm really not that talented. I don't think practice can make up much for a lack of the kind of spark that makes good drawings come alive. Still I regret that I pretty much stopped drawing in my twenties, with corona I've been feeling motivated to start again, hopefully I finally will sometime soon

Nice drawings Marie

thanks dude!
I dug up some portraits. The first two are replicas of paintings/photos which is easier but less interesting: A drawing of a self portrait by Monet Spoiler for Monet:
And a drawing of a photo of John Lennon (I never figured out how to draw hair) Spoiler for Lennon:
The rest are all self portraits, which was what I mostly did. Drawing your own face is weird and difficult and confronting, but fascinating. I think they're chronological in order. My best friend called this one the Serial Killer Portrait: Spoiler for BEWARE:
I made a point of indicating all my birthmarks lol. The reason for the intense stare is just the state of concentration. Another one, in pen this time, which is why it's relatively dark: Spoiler for self 2:
One where I tried a different facial expression for a change: Spoiler for self 3:
and my personal favourite, a quick sketch which is somehow more charming to me than the 'serious' efforts: Spoiler for self 4:

Pooping bitch face.

Marie, you are way too modest - I really think your work is incredible. The Monet self portrait and the Lennon (!) are amazing, and I love your self portraits (agree that your quick sketch is very charming). You definitely have talent and then some. Hope you'll continue with your art - I'm very impressed! ;)

thanks, we'll see if I can find the motivation

NFT's on an "Art Thread" - beautiful. Cryptocurrency and its structure and use cases are awesome.

I finally gave in to the most cliché corona activity and started embroidering my own patches. I'm still very clumsy at it, but it's a lot of fun and my jacket is now decorated with my favourite piece of medieval art:

this is the wonderful original https://ridiculouslyinteresting.file...iple-hands.jpg |

I Noticed Marie that you enjoy art and seen some of your work whilst reading back some would say that they look very promising to me. My sister has done very well with her art from a young kid to now. She sells through small British Art Studios and she has lots of arty friends, they all seems to encourage each other..so guessing you need to push yourself more to get on...
My best mate Ash is good also and very sleepy about his work..here is just one of his.. he has not painted now for a few years..reason not sure at all... https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...LOWERS(2).jpeg he has given me some others and all of fine sketches of buildings but very intricate and the details are very very good..Must hook them out and show them off....You only get out what you put in Marie...... |
thank you, that's a good pep talk actually, I appreciate it. Your mate Ash is good indeed
