I find it cringey when people call their other half; babe, babes, honey and other pet names.



Just don't like it.

Especially baby. I'm not your damn baby.

I hate all pet names except sweetheart. There was this incredibily hot older instructor at the outdoors centre last week that kept calling me sweetheart, I was going weak at the knees.

Mate needs a good mention actually.

Chick here always wakes me up to "morning mate. mate wake up. maaaaate c'mon maaaate."

Oh really? I love pet names, I call people baby, hun, babe, sweetheart, gorgeous you name it!

I call my lady friends sweetheart (but not sweetie, that just comes off phony), lovely, pretty (examples, "Hello Pretty" or "Good Evening, Lovely"), beautiful, doll, dear. I call guys "dude" or "Chief" or something, tbh I don't pay that much attention when I'm talking to another guy.

Interestingly, both men and women that don't know my name tend to call me "Nibble Nuts".

Yeah I adore being called pet names, particularly beautiful.

I'm just not a girly girl so it weirds me out. I'd prefer guys to call me mate than most of them.

I really hate it when people use "babe" in place of "baby" in print and it's not clear whether they're pronouncing it like "babe" or "baby". Considering that nobody uses "babe" except when talking about a lover (and even then it's not necessarily the most common thing to here these days) so I can't help but assume that they really mean "baby" but are just blithering idiots.
