Thank you mister. I need a hug.

The trauma is wearing off now. Again, it could have been much worse, so I'm grateful that I'm still here with all my body parts attached.

Weren't you supposed to be coming back to Houston sometime soon? If you do, I promise we'll take you someplace better than The Cheesecake Factory. :D

So, as of Friday night, at 5:08 pm, this is what my car looks like:

A lovely gentleman in a Honda Civic decided that going 80mph in a 50mph zone, and running a stop sign would be a fantastic idea. I'm pretty sure he didn't factor my car into the equation.

What I'm most pissed off about is that as the glass shattered in my drivers side door, my glasses flew out the window and into the street where they got run over flat. I really loved those glasses. :(

Wow, what a dick.
Glad you're ok. You were obviously wearing your seat belt. I got T-boned once at about 50 mph and came out of it with nothing more than an achy body when the shock wore off. Didn't have air bags or anything. Seat belts work! Hope the insurance gets you all fixed up with a new ride. :)

We don't know if they had insurance or not. :\ Police are supposed to be letting me know, since they didn't find a card in the car, and it actually didn't belong to the driver anyway. Here's hoping...

I'm glad to hear you're okay. Looks like it was a pretty big crash.
It's a good thing you've got a reasonably safe car. Well... had a reasonably safe car.
Sorry to hear about your glasses, but I'm really glad you're fine. You're an awful lot more irreplacable than your glasses :).

Did insurance treat you alright, and give you a fair amount in return?

Unfortunately I think that ship has sailed. Or fortunately, because look where I went instead: Holy cow I love my job!

Christ, thankfully you're OK NSW and I'm glad that you feel you're starting to get over the trauma.

Let me please requote this for everyone who has even the slightest doubt about that.
They are compulsory (right word?) here. And I think that's a good thing.
Please people, wear those damn things. And if you don't do it for yourself, do it for the people that have to scrape you off the road.

No no. I went to Houston a few months back to negotiate a contract with a Russian company. We were supposed to come back in January but due to some setback the negotiations were continued in Moscow instead. I stayed for 5 days...(:
