It says how you feel, without putting her on the spot. It's dignified, and, most importantly, it's the truth.

I've made the mistake of saying "If you really loved me", or, "I'll die without you" blah blah blah. All that does is dump all the pressure on the other person, not to mention making someone you supposedly love, feel guilty for nothing more than wanting to live their own life.
