I'm cursed.

Over the past month I've done a number of patch tests on my face to try and pinpoint what exactly I'm allergic to (in various skin products, even very basic "hypoallergenic" ones and plant-based ones) and.. My face is now a lurid shade of poppy-red. I'm allergic to everything. Particularly certain fatty alcohols which are in virtually everything. Can't use over the counter ointments to soothe my current allergic outbreak because I am allergic to the filler ingredients. FANTASTIC! As I mentioned before, this also means I cannot wear makeup. No, not even additive-free mineral makeup. So if I ever want to make myself look pretty or polished for an event, too bad! Not having the option to alter my appearance subtly is maddening. All the more reason for me to go live a cave and let the eyeless cave creatures gnaw my skin off until I'm a pure glistening skeleton with no need to worry about my distressingly blotchy and plain flesh vessel. (I realize this makes me sound a bit crazy but I allegedly suffer from body dysmorphic disorder, so. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Also, it's absurd that there does not exist a skincare line (including things for the body) that are actually suitable for sensitive + dry skin. For instance, many include oils, silicones and tocopherols which have been shown in various studies to be be irritating for certain skin types.

I don't mean to be funny, but have you tried posting on beauty forums? I mean, asking for advice from all us ugly dudes here is kind of like asking Bernie Madoff for investment advice....

The way I see it, this is the start to your multi-million dollar hypoallergenic makeup empire.

Congratulations. You're now a dude.

Hey, I'm not ugly. I'm a beautiful person. I take great offence.

Oh, I wasn't asking for advice. Honestly, I'm just bitter because A.) Pond's cold cream changed their formula years ago, meaning I can no longer use the one thing I liked/pretend to be Joan Crawford, and B.) if I ever get the urge to slap on mime makeup or Siouxisie Sioux makeup at 2 am, I can't! (And yes, I've stalked beauty forums for over a decade but seeing as I do not have normal skin like they do, their advice is useless. Besides, I know more about all of it than they do since I've had an obsessive interest in the topic for over a decade. What I need to do is just see an allergist, because I'm baffled by the fact that I cannot even wear minerals on my face. I haven't heard of iron oxide allergies but maybe I have that too.)
Though Frownland had the right idea!

I've considered this as well, but alas, I am not a chemist and would need to hire a cosmetic formulator. So I'm left with the option of just making simpler formulas myself on a smaller scale and becoming an insufferable Etsy person.

Nothing is stopping y'all from wearing makeup! (Plenty of men wear it anyway; it's not noticeable if applied correctly) Be free!
