I don't think they're is any of that around here if not in the entire state.

logging I would guess not, but you can't have construction without mining

Not coal young one, You can mine rock also. In order to have concrete you need rock, sand, and gravel. All of these things are to expensive to move long distances so wherever there is a construction boom there is a mine

there's alot of cement industry in this area, and in the hill country (austin),....which means there's mines,...

when you are driving down the road, look for odd placed hills along the road. they build burms on the edge of quarries to block some sound and hide them from public view. look for cement and dump trucks.
