good sleeping music

hey does anyone know any good music to fall asleep to?

lucifer_sam 08-14-2008 10:28 PM

Mostly classical stuff... Pachelbel's Canon in D comes to mind. Pretty post-rock like Explosions in the Sky works too.

How can you be selective about music that you fall asleep to?...it's like preferring colorful toilet paper to wipe your ass on.

Anything I consider mellow like carissa's wierd usually suffices. I don't know. I hate collapsing around in bed thinking about things which then turns to worry so I end up looking up at my wall from about 3/4 am. Something that makes you feel quiet but not alone will help.

I've got a playlist for this. For me the songs cant be heavy at any point and percussion is important. AIR has some good ones like 'Mayfair Song', 'Photograph', and 'Redhead Girl'

I agree with lucifer_sam on Explosions In The Sky.

imdesigner 08-15-2008 08:32 AM

a lot of the time i tend to listen to In Our Bedroom After The War by Stars, or Knives Don't Have Your Back by Emil Haines & The Soft Skeleton.

Endlessly...Mercury Rev. Put it on repeat.

If i can't sleep i normally just pop on MBV's Loveless (on quiet, obviously), normally does the trick. Another recent one is Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas.

Oh yeah, been playing 5 Leaves Left a lot when trying to doze off too.

Wifey Boozer 08-16-2008 09:44 AM

My grandpa got me into doing this... when you can't sleep or something or just wanna chill & doze off... put on the blues station if you have Music on Demand or whatever. It's beautiful but if on low it's kinda just cool to listen to and somewhat ignore.

Closed. It can be posted into music rec's in General if they are that desperate (but I doubt they will be back).
