Odd Facts

I was doing my random fact reading as usual, learning more useless fact that are cool to know and I ran across Charles Osborne. He holds the world record for long hiccup attack. For 68 years (1922'-1990') he hiccuped at a extreme rate. Apparently for most of the time it was 40 HPM then slowed to 20 HPM. Surprisingly he still worked and was married twice.

So I guess just post a random but interesting fact that caught your attention.

My favourite fact, mainly because nobody can guess the answer and also the look on their faces:

The world's youngest mother to give birth was how old? We're talking Human female, lol.

The answer:

Five years old.....that's 5

The Peruvian girl?

The biological aspect is less worrying than the fact that she was impregnated in the first place.

One of my fav 'fact'y things is the mobius strip.

It's like a 2 dimensional object that exists in 3 dimensional space. It only has one side, a front.

(It's actually part of the SuperString Theory called "colliding open strings.")

Most folks know about the strip, itself, BUT, try this:

"A mathematician once confided

That a mobius strip is just one sided

And you should get quite a laugh

if you'll but cut it right in half;

it's one two-sided piece when divided!"

You cut it 'lengthwise,' i guess you could say.

Oh! And any of you that decide to experiment around with that? See you sometime next week!

Found out on one of my many George Carlin binges that species on this planet disappear at a rate of 25 a day. That's something eh
