Clothes/Threads/Gear

I didn't find a thread on clothes in a search, so I decided to make one. I loves me some new, fresh gear. So just discuss your favorite brands/stores, favorite styles, new clothes, and whatever else. I just got me a new outfit from Karmaloop:

A T from Obey,
Jeans from LRG,
and Lace Links from Obey.

It b fresh, no?

jackhammer 11-08-2008 02:55 PM

but this can stay open as well.

I knew about the shoes, but I thought I'd make a full apparel thread. Thanks for leavin it open.

FireInCairo 11-08-2008 08:59 PM

Opportunity shops my friend

Surell 11-08-2008 09:01 PM

Do explain, because I'm a bit lost.

FireInCairo 11-08-2008 09:04 PM

I was just stating my favourite clothes outlets

lucifer_sam 11-08-2008 09:28 PM

Thrift stores. Not because I'm trying to make some egregious statement about myself, just that I'm too goddamn poor to afford anything more expensive than that.

FireInCairo 11-08-2008 09:32 PM

thats what i meant, yankees call them thrift stores?
We call them op-shops here

Seltzer 11-08-2008 09:33 PM

I've never owned a pair of jeans...

FireInCairo 11-08-2008 09:38 PM

hows that possible?

Seltzer 11-08-2008 09:43 PM

Well jeans are quite expensive. I'm not saying I've never been in a position to afford them, but I guess I place a higher priority on other things like CDs etc... and even then, that's only after paying rent, food, power, transport and net.

I kind of figured that out, actually. I think it's supposed to be a statement of a person's endorsement of an "alternative" lifestyle, but mine has been so inundated with normality I could hardly think that I was making any such statement.

...e.g. I'm not some weird hipster. Just poor.

FireInCairo 11-08-2008 11:00 PM

Im a stupid hipster and i hate myself for it hahaha

I just about asked if that's a thrift shop.

And Seltzer, I thought you'd say you were just a sharp dresser or something like that. =/

Also, my favorite chain store would probably be Underground Station. Journey's is cool to. Hot Topic's only good for belts/accessories/T shirts for me.

Seltzer 11-09-2008 07:59 AM

Haha, I try to dress sharply but with my lack of fashion sense and deplorable wardrobe, I'm not too sure how well I do. :D

jackhammer 11-09-2008 12:42 PM

I just wear a T- shirt and either combats or jeans. That has never really changed. I don't do hoodies or long sleeve tops in general. I am quite partial to my leather bikers jacket though.

Astronomer 11-09-2008 04:27 PM

I wear whatever can be found on my floor and whatever is clean.
I shop at thrift stores 'coz I'm poor.

Alfred 11-09-2008 05:43 PM

I never shop at thrift stores cuz I'm a rich mofo.

Not really, but I never shop at thrift stores. Instead, I shop at West49, which is a skateboarding-focused clothing chain of stores. They're not cheap, but I wouldn't call them a ripoff. They sell a lot of skateboards and skate gear too.

West49

They're also mildly associated with Alexisonfire and Cancer Bats, and have sold their merch before.

FireInCairo 11-10-2008 01:49 AM

I tend to wear shirts and ties with dinner jackets or trenchcoats depending on seasonal variance (as I dabble in the mod) black jeans and converses (as i get them for free due to a high up contact in the company)...and thrift stores do not necessarily need to be for the thrifty

If you have a suit, no one can complain.

FireInCairo 11-11-2008 02:40 AM

Unless you look like a corporate mofo!

Mr Sensitive 11-12-2008 03:09 PM

I do like my hoodies, the more I look like a Ringwraith the better.

guitargirl_93 11-12-2008 06:52 PM

Shirt:

Blondie Tee - Teen Clothing by Wet Seal

Pants:

kthedrummer 11-12-2008 07:35 PM

andriaaa 11-12-2008 08:34 PM

I guess that might apply. And my clothes finally got here!

PS: What are flats?

Astronomer 11-13-2008 07:27 PM

http://www.2bsdistribution.com/prodi...0150%202in.jpg

Those flat shoes that every single female now wears. The latest fashion craze.

Surell 11-13-2008 07:31 PM

Oh, the dancer looking kind of shoe. Or that's what it reminds me of. I think they're pretty on girls myself. I see all the girl's wearin em though.

simplephysics 11-13-2008 07:31 PM

I wear.. whatever's clean. I've never really taken an interest in fashion.

Surell 11-13-2008 07:38 PM

So my favorite brands are Ed Hardy, Gino Green Global, LRG, Obey, Vans, ****ies, Akademiks, Timberland, Famous Stars and Straps, DC, Versace, Gucci, (can't afford those last two), Crooks and Castles, and a few others I guess. How bout you guyz?
