You just have to be careful. It's also worth noting it's not for everyone; it's a very powerful, and possibly overwhelming experience, so heed with caution. With that said though, I think the kid in that instance probably either took too much, wasn't being careful, wasn't suited to be tripping mentally, and I also assume he was alone. I've done a light amount myself, and had no problem at all (though, it was quite minor). I do plan to do it again, but with trustworthy people, in a safe, comfortable environment, and I'm not going to go nuts with it. All the trips I've had with mushrooms, and my one acid experience, have been very positive, and have had a positive outcome on my life.

I agree with the being careful part. Really make sure you trust the people you do it with though.

But I don't buy into the not doing acid thing, i'm probably never going to do it again, but in no way am I against it.

I shouldn't laugh, I have friends who went to cuckooland on various drugs and never found their way back. But sometimes I wonder if they ain't in a better place. You never know.
