frustrated,....

so i'm surfin the net tryin to find my kinda boyfriend a place in ft worth or dallas,...something urban,...he wants a loft,....exposed brick,....lots of natural light,...concrete or wood floors,.....something he can scuff up,.....

something old maybe? historic? kinda cool,...not pretentious,...and i'm tryin to find something with a great kitchen,...

its been so long since i looked for real estate in the city,......i thought the market was bad,...everything is so expensive,......and if its not it looks generic,......

ugh,....

should i just break down and call an agent?

Janszoon 11-18-2008 08:32 PM

Is he look to rent or to buy? If he's just looking to rent, just keep searching on your own.

savannah 11-18-2008 08:37 PM

he wants to rent,....i think he, or we, or i should buy,.....

i'm pushin for these,...

the one bedrooms are only like 750 a month,...which i guess isnt that bad,.......the bigger ones are of course more expensive,....but he doesnt need that much room,...its just him and his dog,.....and i'd stay every so often,.....i guess,....

Man, Texas is cheap. I wish I could get a place like that for 750. Around here a place like that is at least twice that.

When I was y'alls age we all just had sex with each other. No need for something as committed and restraining as Lucy Sam's Buck Fuddy or Savannah's kinda boyfriend. That was pre-aids though and we still weren't mostly immune to penicillin.

Also... buy. That's the best advice I can give. I stretched my ass at 26 to buy a home for $52,000 and sold it 14 years later for $270K. Imagine if I'd kept renting.

The market is down, prices are low. If you have good credit a steady job and ambition, you should buy. Move you're BFN (boyfriend for now) in and charge him rent. Maybe consider another roommate too but that's a whole other conversation.

savannah 11-18-2008 09:12 PM

that last bit is what i'm thinkin,......maybe,...

i have the money to invest,.....and he thinks it a good idea,...maybe,...if i settle my butt down and he doesnt ahve to worry about runnin away from him again,.....but thats another thread,....

if he doesnt do this loft thing, i'm thinkin a condo,...or buyin a two story down in deep ellum and renovating it,....

How I pine for simpler times. Now even friends need an excuse if they want to have sex with each other. :(

Isn't it awful.

It really was simply something you did when you got high and were bored. It's why guys had female friends then. It's the only reason we let chicks be hippies man.

It's sad that today it takes most folks until their thirty's to see that sex and love are two completely different things and that until you have the later you should have as much of the former as you can.

I believe I said most, and also that advice is only for Men and women who did not come from my wife's womb. They should stay celibate into their late forty's.

Se la vie

I'm guessing it was the aids scare in the 80s coinciding with the mainstreaming rise in pornography that made many people think twice and overthink everything.

In terms of buying/renting, I'd liksten to JayJamJah. Those are great strategies. I'm just too young to know much about real estate.
