I have a faulty battery on one of my laptops, but I always forget which one until I am out with it and it does a tech fart and dies.

I should sort this tomorrow actually.

Yeah, some of my roomates have them and I feel dumb carrying around my ginormous 17'' Dell.

Hmmm I'm after a laptop myself in the next month or two. I've entertained the idea of getting one for doing programming work at uni next year and for taking with me when I go home for the weekend etc. But now that I have to commute for 3 days a week without a computer, that gives me a real excuse to get one. :D

I'm not up to date with laptop hardware at the moment, but I'll most likely go for a Dell Studio with a 17" screen, at least 3 GB ram and some graphics capability. I wish Dell offered 3 year warranties and an Ubuntu option (which would save money).

a macbook air is useless, there's hardly any space on them, they just look cool and are easy to tote around. I've got a macbook and I love it. I'd never be able to switch back to a pc now. but thats mainly because the software for mac that i use just kicks so much ass compared to the stuff for pc.
