I pretty much agree with Darkest Hour.

I mean the music itself is okay, but I like other stuff a lot more.

But the importance and influence is like OFF THE CHARTS.

Influence implies that it has an effect on future generations of music. So unless you really want me to explain how the passage of time works I don't think I need to expound on why current music can't really be considered influential.

Well, on a different note, I doubt Darkest is aware of all the godlike stuff from the 60's up til now anyway if he's focusing in on metalcore. And if you aren't aware of more than two or three genres, then you obviously have no clue what you are talking about anyway.

Hence, my advice to the OP is simple; Go do yourself a favor and check out/listen to some of the discographies of King Crimson, Yes, Comus, The Sonics, The Residents, Return to Forever, Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa, Soft Machine, Magma, etc and still insist that music from before 1990 isn't superior to some of the stuff you are drooling over now.

i like listening to the sonics in the morning when i'm installing car audio or working on my car, but i almost died in boredom listening to the others on that list.

Pathetic. It's been less than thirty minutes since I posted and you've dismissed ALL of them but The Sonics?

What did you expect, given his posts? He knows next to nothing about music, he won't like those bands in the first place, and I really doubt he listened to a single song anyway.

Ooh, did you hear a single song from each artist! Wow! Now you can judge them!
