My dad used to brew his own. That was good apart from a tendency for the bottles to explode.

Yeah, it's good stuff. A good brand for cheap ginger ale is Vernor's. It's one of the oldest surviving soda companies in America. It was first made in 1866, and is the bomb.

Glass bottle ginger ales and beers are good also, but I don't drink them enough to have a favorite brand.

You should check out Jamaica House over in the Galleria area. They have some kick ass ginger beer.
