It takes guts and self-respect to refrain from googling food pics to make up for the lack of original work, so I call it a tie!

I retract my negative comment, you do really care. Tomorrow shall be a glorious day for this thread as I will take many pictures of all the food a craft in my kitchen.

Sansa Stark 01-09-2011 09:50 PM

I eagerly await

You fancy huh?

djchameleon 01-09-2011 10:21 PM

yep got my nails did, hair did, everything did.

poppie 01-12-2011 07:54 AM

Have you ever tried sweet and spicy veggies?, its diced red and green and yellow bell peppers and fried onions. the sweet sauce is just barbacue sauce
just pour that right over everything just before it is done let thicken a bit.
the spicy is just crushed red pepper seeds after it is done just sprinkle over all, put that in a sub roll or just have it as a side dish, i fry this all in olive oil and steam the peppers first to soften them up before frying.

djchameleon 01-12-2011 06:28 PM

I've never had that but I'd be willing to make it and try it out....sounds delicious.

I love cooking, but we eat it before I get my camera.

Can you at least change the name to foodbox, then? D:
No fun.

Hmmm... One thread was for recipes, the other was apparently for people to make random exclamations about food and post a picture of it with little to no info about it.

Ah well. They're both about food.
I'll probably go and merge all the threads about pictures into one single thread so we can clean things up around here. ;)

Arya Stark 01-14-2011 11:05 PM

There was information though. The Recipe thread lists recipes that you can copy and paste from whateverthe**** and the foodbox was supposed to have pictures of what YOU cooked, and there was discussion about what could be added and things like that. I mean, it was just getting started.
Jackhammer pulled the thread that was made over a year ago and that died with only like 10 pages in it and posted it in Dayna's thread. They didn't really have anything to do with each other. I guess my only problem is that we have 10 MILLION "Who is the best rapper" threads and they're all separate. And the only two about food were merged. I still love you to death Conan, but that's my beef.

I'm new to this. Oh well, trial and error. :D

I don't know how to undo it though.

Arya Stark 01-14-2011 11:07 PM

Hehe, I understand! [= I didn't want to make it sound like I'm yelling at you or anything.

I was mostly just kidding.. but I liked the idea of people posting their own recipes to stuff because I like to cook and I get ideas and comments from people that you can't really get from some random online source.

Maybe I'll add something to the title so this can be used for both purposes?

djchameleon 01-15-2011 04:35 AM

I made some potato salad yesterday

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...hoto_00007.jpg

Not too exciting looks wise but it was very crunchy

I added apples, celery and relish to the potatoes and eggs.

I wish I had some red food coloring to spice it up some the way it looks

Dr_Rez 01-15-2011 04:59 AM

Everything you make is of a white creamy consistency. ..Just sayin..

djchameleon 01-15-2011 05:36 AM

protein is good for you....might as well make good use of it

poppie 01-16-2011 04:58 PM

If you like your recipies with some HOT spice in your life,
i use the hottest peppers on earth, which is Red Savina Habañero. they have a heat rating between 350,000 - 550,000, chop and dice everything donot include the stems, but include seeds and all, i use these peppers in my thai foods and been soups and texas stews.

i can take the heat :D

djchameleon 01-16-2011 05:50 PM

No, ty....I can't take the heat going into my stomach so I know I sure as hell can't take the heat when it decides to come out later on....burning going in means burning coming out

Paloma...the sushi looked amazing! I couldn't tell if you made it with brown rice, or it just had alot of soy sauce on it. Which was it? I ask because I've been wondering about making sushi with brown rice, I'd like to try it.

Arya Stark 01-16-2011 09:24 PM

I made some great stuffed mushrooms and took pictures but I can't decide which to put up.

Healthy Avocado Sushi with Brown Rice

I hate peppers though and didn't have any sprouts on hand. Still delicious.

Kay, I picked my favourite pictures. These are stuffed Portobello Mushrooms. They're stuffed with Zuchinni, Red Bell Pepper, Mozzarella, Panko Bread Crumbs, Garlic, Onion, the mushroom stem and prolly other stuff I can't remember. It tasted SOOOOO good, and I'm kind of proud of myself. Sorry some of the pictures aren't so good, I took them with my phone in bad lighting.

Sansa Stark 01-17-2011 07:44 PM

yummmmmmm

djchameleon 01-18-2011 08:09 AM

I have always wanted to make stuffed portabella mushrooms....I think next time I go shopping i will gather up the ingredients and report back with how mines turned out.

Arya Stark 01-18-2011 10:49 AM

I had a bad first experience with portobello mushrooms, they put some disgusting **** on the ones at school, like some bitter spice/sauce. It looks good but it does NOT taste good, and every time I look at it I get tricked into tasting it and it's hooorrrriiiiibbbbbbble. Anyway, those stuffed mushrooms were really good.

FETCHER. 01-18-2011 12:31 PM

those mushrooms look delicious. cheese stuffed ones put under the grill wrapped in tinfoil are my favourite. mmmmmm <3.

Arya Stark 01-18-2011 10:18 PM

Pasta with sauteed onions, garlic, peppers, and tomatoes.
Kinda the same ingredients as the mushroom but this one is my mom's creation, not from a book.
I made it this time around, though, and it came out really good. On top, I put some spinach and I sprinkled mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese. So good.

Paedantic Basterd 01-18-2011 10:24 PM

Those are plated nicely. I can't plate very well. I did make poor man's tarragon chicken though, and it was fantastic.

Arya Stark 01-18-2011 10:29 PM

is plating that hard? it doesn't seem like it imo.

granted the pics I took weren't plated well at all because I wasn't thinking about that when taking them.
