Got to be one of the Brits, all the rest suck the proverbial.

ProggyMan 04-01-2009 12:31 AM

CA then sleepy jack.

mr dave 04-01-2009 02:34 AM

JH is my top choice. the bloodsport avatar rules.

i've never seen any posts by half of that list. 3-4 of them seem too argumentative for the role. just because they've been here forever doesn't mean they should be dictating views.

coryallen2 04-01-2009 06:11 AM

looks like jack hammer is in the lead

TheCellarTapes 04-01-2009 10:10 AM

I've gone with George Best

Agreed...

Freebase Dali 04-01-2009 08:21 PM

Yea, I totally voted for JackHammer. But Right-Track was an extremely close second.

From what I've seen so far, JH & RT don't have a bad attitude and moderating doesn't require one. Any authoritative figure, regardless of field, accomplishes more with respectful ushering than they would with overly-opinionated dictation.
I don't mean to say that the other mods display negative characteristics... Except for Urban Hatemonger ;) Kidding.
I just mean that so far, to me, JH & RT stand out in a positive way.

There's a difference between being a loveless rule enforcer and being the kind of person people don't want to disappoint. Respect makes that difference, and it's a two way street.

glutoro 04-01-2009 08:53 PM

I'm going to wait until the day before closing.. jeez that's a year away I could change my mind a millions time before then.

All I need is you.

Zarko 04-02-2009 05:30 AM

Well jackhammer is the only one I've really talked to... Probably because I am a General Music/Music Journal's recluse...

Right-Track seems to have his head on straight though, always a good quality :D I also think Big3 needs more of a mention, simply for being a top quality elitist :p:

TheBig3 04-02-2009 12:13 PM

these boards don't love me.

I would rather be hated and ignored than give it to these people any other way. I've never been helped by people sparing my feelings or being diplomatic when someone was an outright ****.

I was told to come back to the mod table with my claws out by a mod who shall remain unnamed. Polls like this remind me I'm doing my job.

sleepy jack 04-02-2009 12:54 PM

Quit your whining; poor Seltzer has no votes =[

TheBig3 04-02-2009 01:12 PM

who the **** is Seltzer?

edit: egadz! (sp?) he's tied me!

sleepy jack 04-02-2009 01:14 PM

And me :(

I wouldn't feel bad if kris2 wasn't tied with us as well.

glutoro 04-02-2009 01:30 PM

This is like who would do you love more the Art teacher or the Math teacher... hmmm.. I would clearly go with the Art teacher.. there pot heads that let you listen to the radio during class. Classic.

Right Track the art teacher? hmm maybe.

Yukon Cornelius 04-02-2009 07:30 PM

I give mine to sleepy late, I have found out lately hes not so bad after all.

midnight rain 04-02-2009 07:47 PM

Seltzer is one of the most level headed mods on here. He stays out of the fights and keeps his head down, but does his job. That's why he didn't have any votes.

Of the few times I've talked to him, he's one of the nicest people on here too.

Draw between right-track and him, but I'll give Seltzer the vote to try and even the competition ;)

Oh, that and Seltzer posts less then any other mods (besides yac and kris2)

Jackhammer is up there as well

Most of the rest I haven't talked to much, sleepy jack and me used to talk occasionally but had a falling out of sorts :/

i like you. it just so happens that your level of devotion to this forum doesn't eclipse lee's. (but for that matter, nobody else's does either).

and it might help your case if you quit flipping out on people. :D

Don't confuse post averages with work done behind the scenes.
As for levels of devotion, Big3 was the architect of the MB Reader.
His interest in the betterment of MB is unequalled.

jackhammer 04-03-2009 03:40 AM

I would like to think that I have contributed a shedload to these forums not just in terms of actual posts but the MB comps, reviewing album submissions etc Unfortunately no matter how hard I try I cannot come close to big3's fantastic writing style. I swear that guy has British blood! He has a sarcastic streak running through his work which I really like.

FireInCairo 04-03-2009 04:27 AM

Gotta go the Jackhammer for being such a nice, helpful guy.

I hope you don't think my post was implying your post count outweighed your contributions to the boards Lee?
Reading it back, it could be construed as such I admit, but my comment was intended as a show of support for Big3 in response to lucifer_sam's remark and not in any way a dig at you.

I've seen a few comments levelled at several moderators aimed at their lack of activity in the forums, which I think is unfair because a lot of time and effort spent keeping MB tidy and ticking over never gets seen.

coryallen2 04-03-2009 07:09 AM

uh oh right-track is catchin up too ya jackhammer O.o

No not at all mate. of course that is true. There are countless times you log on and spend ages just going through the forum and doing the unseen work.

Big3 and I come from almost the same place originally. We're a sarcastic bunch up there. :D

TheBig3 04-03-2009 11:50 AM

awww you guyyyyys.

No seriously, thanks for the kind words.

@ sam: half of my flipouts are intended as humor to a teenage crowd just waiting to feel sorry for themselves. they too will oneday appreciate an insensitive jackass like myself, you have no idea how much I prepare you for work in the cusotmer service field.

lucifer_sam 04-03-2009 12:15 PM

the experience really isn't all that helpful for me. i plan on never speaking to anybody in the real world as soon as possible.

seems like the most logical course to take.
