Would anyone be up for using IRC, you can just use mibbit.com instead of messing about installing a client? We could register the channel and set a bot up on it without too much difficulty.
Or are you all perfectly content with AIM? |
I just made an AIM. pluseightyone81 if anyone feels so inclined to add me.

IRC is definetly a better option and I'd argue the smartest, but .. people don't really know IRC anymore. Some have a hard time getting on and they don't know you're supposed to just hang around for days until a discussion finally takes place. :p:
When the channel was running, people kept joining to check if there was activity, then disconnected again. I mean, that's just newb style IRCing if I ever saw it. How are discussions going to take place if the days' 20 joins/quits all happen at different times? Of course the channel is dead now, but if someone else wants to have a go - shoot. I can provide bots and the occasional company. |
I'm in if a few more people are in too, theres nothing worse than sitting in an empty chatroom though, thats why I'll wait for a few others. :)
|
If it takes off then i might look into it. I went the AIM route because it seemed the active one, and with meebo it's easy to get involved.

I'd be happy to sit around in a channel, as I'm usually in 1 or 2 others as well anyway. |

Me and Comus sort of gave up on this chatroom idea because people didn't seem to understand IRC or the way it should be used. No offense! It's just that for an IRC chatroom to be interesting, its' users should get in the habit that when they log on their computer, they also log on IRC and the chatroom - and stay there. F.ex you don't enter it then leave after 5 minutes because people didn't reply - which is what a lot of people did. IRC clients normally don't howl every time someone writes something while you're not paying attention so just discovering that someone's logged on and wants to chat might take a little while. If people leave because it seems dead the moment they come in, then they'll be gone by the time someone notices they were there.
So, I figure IRC doesn't work as an official kind of musicbanter chatroom. But, if anyone's interested in chatting a bit, I'll be hanging there the next few days. :) edit : Those who don't want to install an IRC client can try this webchat interface : https://webchat.rizon.net/ just put musicbanter in the channels box and figure out the rest yourself! |

edit : In order to use IRC "right" (the way I described in my previous post), it is of course best to get a proper client. |
I will probably do that and just get the client then
|
I'm in too. May as well give it a try and see if we can get this going.
|
I got everything set up and i'm in there now
|
I'm tying the baloon to the mailbox.

Join me in a live video chat on TokBox!
Hi guys. I'm bored and I'm wearing a headscarf. Your company would be a lovely thing. |
I've downloaded AIM, it would be cool if I could add some of you :)
