Default Is this actually right?

Okay. so today I was listening to the news and this lady is suing her ex for:

1. Not following a contract.
2. Pain and suffering.
3. Lost wages.
4. Breach of a promise.

Here is the story.

Okay, so the TV told me that there was this lady from northeast ohio who met a guy on the internet from sounthern ohio. They wanted to have a life together. So the lady wanted to get a job in kentucky and the man said no, if your going to get a job down there we are not going to lvie together. The lady said alright. So she and him sold there houses and moved down to texas. A couple months into there relationship the an told her he was in debt and needed help paying off bills. So he had a good job and everything (lucky him) and he paid off his debt. A few months later it Not following contractwas their wedding day and the guy called it off because he did not love her anymore. She wants to sue him.

1. Not following contract (he didnt follow through with marriage)
2. Pain and suffering (All the work the wife did for the wedding)
3. Lost wages (For the money she COULD have made at the job in kentucky.)
4. Breach of a promise. (Not telling about financial problems.)

I think that if you are going to tigh the knot with someone the first thing you should do before you do this should be a background check. To make sure who you are dealing with. What do you guys/gals think?

Discuss.

You could do a background check....

...or just not date wackos. This guy had plenty of time to figure that one out, I'm sure she exhibited signs earlier in the relationship.

It's sad that this turns into a monetary thing and it unfortunately shows the greed apparent in many. He didn't take her money and paid off his own debts. It's a bitch it didn't work out but that's the way life is- taking chances and now to be sued is just pathetic and shows mean spirit. It's a pity there is no other sources for this as your post was a bit garbled at times.

since when have intimate relationships become contractual?

the idea of needing to do a background check prior to getting married shows an unbelievable misconception of what an intimate relationship is supposed to be about. you shouldn't need to do a background check on someone before marrying them because you should already know the person well enough before you even consider marrying them.

this is just a case of two very desperate idiots.
