What's Your Ultimate Life?

I don't think anyone here would have not imagined what their ideal life would be. Describe the life you've imagined yourself in whether it be for now to replace your current one or the future. Also mention the reasons for why you would want this life.

It's fun to dream! I will post my imagined life soon. :)

jackhammer 06-02-2009 05:07 PM

Great idea for a thread. We can all dream eh?

AshleighJane 06-02-2009 05:10 PM

MURDER JUNKIE 06-02-2009 07:35 PM

Livin' in Vegas in a large house with a large pool

I'd be doing it right now if it weren't for the stiff stipulations on visas :(

PinkCigarette 06-02-2009 08:46 PM

I want to be a movie star. I wish I could be a singer but yeah, singing is something I can't do well enough to be in a band or as a solo artist.

The one thing that would suck is having my every move watched by someone in the bushes who would be willing to snap any kind of unflattering photo.

Jacky, am I the only one who caught that?

boo boo 06-02-2009 09:38 PM

I want to be a movie director, because I love to come up with stories and story concepts, and with my eclectic tastes I think I'd come up with an odd signature style. Right now I'm taking an interest in writing stories, maybe find an artist to colaborate with and create comic books. That would be really cool. Music is also something I'd love to pursue, but I have to be realistic, I'm the creative type, not a performer.

I don't wan't an excessive life of luxury. But I dunno, maybe a private island isolated from the rest of civilization. No fancy cars or anything, but maybe a nice country house, a lush garden and a hot trophy wife, preferably bald.

LoathsomePete 06-02-2009 09:41 PM

I would love to be a history teacher at a decent school with a class that actually gave a toss about history. I would also like to live back in a city as I'm a city boy born and raised and that's where I feel comfortable. I in no way want to be rich and I wouldn't even care if I rented my entire life, if I was living in a decent apartment with a girlfriend or awesome roommate I'd be pretty happy.

The Unfan 06-03-2009 08:40 AM

Being a full time musician would be cool. I love everything about that life style. Being on the road most of the time, getting to play an instrument for a living, getting the chance to be creative, everything.

same here

I would write the music for the guitar.....and the lyrics...and maybe sing a little

Bulldog 06-03-2009 08:59 AM

Ideally I'd graduate in two years time, maybe stay on for a post-grad course for a few more years and be a struggling playwright, supporting myself with a cushy job 'til I hit the big time.

I can dream eh :D

It's so dry there. It's sweaty hot at 2am and it's ridiculously expensive. But I'm not going to ie it's worth it.

I like the blad trohy wife, nice touch.

p.s. Isn't that some sort of oxymoron?

Sounds sort of vague. Like you're not sure exactly what you even if you could have it.

Maybe. To be perfectly honest though I'm much more concerned with the present than the future. I'm satisfied having some sort of idea rather than no idea anyway.

I'd like to end up in the Northwest somewhere (preferably WA) to graduate from Evergreen State College and get a masters in Environmental Studies with a minor or double major in Spanish. I want to live in the mountains and eventually get off the grids and become self-sustained. One of my biggest dreams is to find a community that is already self-sustaining. By that I mean, one that does away with using money, uses alternate energy sources, farms and cultivates their own food, etc. That's not too much to ask for, is it?

Antonio 06-03-2009 11:01 AM

making music by my own rules, basically

TumorAttitude 06-03-2009 11:08 AM

I'm getting my high school deploma through early college, then I'm joining the Peace Corps because I think it will enlighten me.
My dream is to know the meaning of life, and know exactly what is right or wrong.
I'll settle for being in some sort of indie rock band and getting a degree offline.

But yeah, that'd be one of my dreams also. Except rather than seeking out some kind of self-sufficient commune, I think it'd be more fun to overthrow the government in an armed revolution. Unfortunately I'm currently too much of pansy-ass to go and shoot Stephen Harper myself. Plus I'm a bit short on cash to grab myself a gun. Maybe I could go take out some windows on Parliament Hill with my canned food.

I view the self-sufficient commune as the beginning to an armed revolution. I, too, would join you. Though I believe in free love, peace and all that hippy ****, I think a lot of the world will not wake up without a serious movement and if that means getting violent, so be it. As easy as it would be to just go out there and starting shooting people or breaking windows, we have to realize that we will be stronger as a community. We have to go a long way, I feel, before overthrowing our government happens. Something is coming soon, though. I've been feeling it for so long now. I'm in touch with a couple of people throughout the states and some overseas about little projects that pertain to what we're discussing - individuals who have dedicated their lives to live free. If you're interested, PM me.

savannah 06-03-2009 12:21 PM

i want to be the best wife and mother i can be
a cross between the girl next door, betty crocker, and the one your mother warned you about
its very important to me to have a family, and those to take care of,......alot of this spurs from being an only child raised by two absent parents,.....so i imagine to opposite for myself

professionally,....i'm still figurein that out,....i was most happy while at the newspaper, though i tend to just push my way in and take over no matter where i end up,......i've often drempt of opening my own little restaurant/book store/bar/music store/florist/fly shop/private investigations company,.......i think it better for me to be self employed

for the most part i'm pretty happy though,....i can afford to work little and play alot,.....i own my own stuff/house, and am pretty self reliant,.....its hard for me to ask for more than that

jackhammer 06-03-2009 01:52 PM

Live till I'm 100 with the ability to still get a boner and enjoy it. I don't think that's too unreasonable really.

you'd want to outlive your children?

i think that would be one of the most horrible situations ever, the rest of your family long gone and you just linger around for another decade or so.

i'd probably off myself long before i got that old too.

Lingering? Oh hell no. Active until the last if possible!

The most miserable person I know is the oldest.

Blue 06-04-2009 01:07 AM

Though I'd probably be lying if I said I don't have dreams of what life could be, or what I'd hope for it to be, something about the current state of things just seems "right" (I suppose because it is what is), and I'm not sure I'd want to change that.

I love life for what it is, and it never ceases to amaze me.

I don't really have a vision of how I want my life to be, I just know that when I look back in 60 years, I don't want to feel unfulfilled. I want to learn, see, and do as much as possible and eventually have a family. Basically I want my life to be a good story.

asshat 06-04-2009 01:37 AM

I'd be a high rise window washer and a part time writer. I'd have a good lookin' sugar mama who's into literature, beer, and kfc. We'd live in a brick house.

Okay, my ultimate life is:

In 5-10 years, I am going to be a top fashion designer creating a ground breaking step forward for fashion, with my own stores and celebrity fan base. However, my sample sizes will be for...you didn't guess it...short people! I'm considered too short for runway, and I want to change that. I also want to be a professor of glaciology and/or statistics, create ground breaking research that will help advance studies in other planets (i.e. Mars). I'm going to own a number of real estate and build an empire based on my name.

coryallen2 06-05-2009 07:18 AM

My ultimate life:

To be loved on musicbanter.

That went south very quickly.

I have polar opposites, I love science and being creative at the same time, whilst dabbling in business and culture. I'm ready to earn it though, I'm young.

coryallen2 06-05-2009 07:39 AM

That's good. I am trying to make a name for myself in MMA.

Seltzer 06-05-2009 07:57 AM

In the next few years (depending on whether I do postgrad), I'd like to amass experience in my industry (software engineering) allowing me to either attain an awesome full-time job, to do contracting work or to have my own software business.

From there, I'd like to build a small real estate empire so that I can have a reasonable passive income such that I wouldn't have to work and I would be able to live comfortably - the 'have to' part is important there because I would still work, but it would be a choice and not a compulsion and I could operate on a more self-designated self-employed basis without a ball and chain.

Ultimately, I'd like to be able to spend my life travelling and living in many places around the world, learning everything I can and having fun. How I get there is completely open to fate - nothing is set in stone.
