Ja it's one.

Because 6÷2(1+2) does not equal (6÷2)(1+2).

The reason it isn't one is because you have to still solve the problem left to right after doing whatever is in the parenthesis.

So the equation becomes 6÷2x3 then you solve left to right.

2(3) is one unit.

If it were one unit they'd be in parentheses.

Can you give me a word problem where it would make sense to write it like that and get 9 as the answer?

I can give you the Order of Operations that says you're wrong, and then not come up with a math problem of my very own and then convert it into a story, cause, I mean, why the **** would I ever choose to do that?

Because my answer reflects logic, bitch.

6÷2(1+2)=6/2(3)=3/(3)=1

You want to get something that only works in pairs. Each item costs two dollars with one dollar shipping (ordering them at the same time doesn't reduce the cost of shipping). If you have six dollars, how many pairs of sex doll parts can you afford?

6÷2(2+1)

If 6 divided by 2 gives you 3 then why you are still trying to divide again instead of multiplying the rest of it.

6/2(3)= 3(3)= 3X3 = 9

It's called reduction.
