I had a DOS computer as a teen and basically used it from 1995 to around 2003. There's a lot of nostalgia for me in not just the games, but also the DOS operating system itself.
I used to play games like Realms of Arkania 2 and 3, Dungeon Master II, Eye of the Beholder, Thunderscape, Might & Magic 5, Daggerfall... The older titles from the early 90's and 80's are games that I've tried wrestling with in much more recent times. It can be hard to go back to PC games that are that ancient.

No 'formal' training, just hands on. As a drafter, I started out on the board using the old archaic tee squares and triangles, but when the engineering firm I started out with wanted to take the leap to CAD, I was asked to head that up. So, I had to spend a few nights after work learning, researching, and testing. They gave me a budget and I gave them a CAD department. It was in it's early stages though, so everything was DOS. I also had a modem so I could get on the BBS's and grab some free tech and games. This was early 90's during the 'crusades'. |
