I actually had a buddy in Massachusetts who had a pet octopus. Odd feller, though.

I know a guy that had a pet Skunk. His name was Pepe, and he was the coolest little ****er, even better than a dog or a cat. He looked a lot like this little fella:
You know that's a thing now? They are actually nice animals, but I think it's fucked up domesticating them.
They are really cute.

Must be just catching on then. He had his in the late 90's, and it was already domesticated when he got it in some sort of trade. He was the guy in the neighborhood that had a lot of the odd pets, like his pet Alligator, and Goliath Birdeater. He'd go to the Reptile swap meets all the time, and I believe that's where he got his, when he traded a reticulated python or something like that.
