Yea, I meant for him to explain the context in which he used it.
But now that you mention it...

I totally don't buy that expression. With today's cookware technologies and trends, I think it's safe to assume that the kettle is totally cliche, but the pot is probably stainless steel or red with that Teflon crap all up in the inside, and would be absolutely correct in calling a kettle black.
But then extremist left wing media would make a huge scene and uncolored pots would be taken from the market because of claims of racism and something about oil.
