Windows search - that's not a bug, it's a feature!

I'd rather use the command line to find what I want.

I have been using windows 11 for a few weeks now;
Miss being able for the Spotify song title to pop up, it sucked how it would stay up too long but now I miss it; I wish it would pop up like windows 10 but just go away in half the time. This windows 11 doesn't pop up, it just switches songs and if you want to see the song you need to go back to Spotify. The folders and feel/vibe of it is different. Can't see thumbnails of stuff inside the folder like how apple folders. The corners are all curved and just different. It also has a Spotify bug I found out, that Spotify isn't vibing with windows 11 so far. The song will play but you can't change the song and basically, the app dies; need to ctrl-alt-delete > end task.

Load-up speed has slowed down, at first when the Spotify bug happened I just restarted the whole machine and it's slower Probably because this windows 11 was installed on top of windows 10 and not fresh out of the box.

overall, I like it

Maybe it's the way I'm reading it, but every point you make about it appears to be a negative, and then you say overall I like it? Why? Sounds like a piece of crap to me.

I can type in the search bar of a specific folder, yes, but if I don't know where the file is and want to search the entire computer I have to go to the root drive and search there.

I can do that, but what then is the point of the search facility? "Type here to search"? Yeah, as long as you don't expect to find anything. Anyone else have this problem?
I remember that "Type here to search" bullcrap but just never used it. Windows 10 had this news tab loaded on the bottom for a while and now with windows 11 it's on the left of the screen with a temperature. You click the temperature and the news tab pops out from the left.

Yeah so what? Looks more or less the same as Windows 10 search bar. The point is, does it search properly? I miss the old Windows 7 search facility. it was simple and quick, and very accurate. I don't think it even knew what the web was.

A discussion on backing up data appeared in the shout box today. For those of you interested, this is a simple command you can run in windows to back up your data.

In Windows, click the start button. Type in command prompt, and select it. In the command prompt window, type this.

robocopy "d:\source folder" "g:\destination folder" *.* /PURGE /E /R:5 /W:5

This command will copy the contents of d:\source folder to my g: drive, which in this case is an external 2TB USB hard drive. If you run this command regularly, the computer will scan both folders. It will only copy files that have been changed, or don't exist. This is called a differential backup.
