Looks like the dog in the second picture is already looking for one for you.
Be patient. He'll run across one eventually.

Edit...
But yea, definitely get a dog and not a kid.
You may be able to find some good stuff at the Humane Society if you guys have one around where you live.
They should be good with shots and stuff.

Those dogs are gorgeous, good choice. I can't make any promises as I've never searched for a dog, but I'll do as much as I can :)

Freebase Dali 11-29-2009 07:31 PM

Don't they have like... dog personal ads or something?

Ok more like classifieds. Those Craigslist things. Maybe if you put an ad in there?

SATCHMO 11-29-2009 08:17 PM

I've been outsourced...

I came up with a few leads Friday afternoon. e-mailed a lady in CA who owns one and says she's a breeder, but she hasn't gotten back to me yet. There's a few #'s I'll follow up on tomorrow.

Leave it to you to pick the one dog that's allergic to America.

The longer you wait the more you'll want a dog then when you get it you'll love it so much more, cos you searched forever for it. haha.

And yes I do have a dog, I have a fawn, lady, great dane :)

maybe you could get one of those, I'm breeding mines soon haha

Freebase Dali 11-29-2009 08:40 PM

Y'know... I think I know where I could pick up a pretty convincing dog costume. And Texas isn't far from Louisiana... So um... I could work out a deal with you but I have to warn you... This puppy will probably be one of those leg humpers.

Haha... not really.
But my owners usually love me so much they just get used to my antics. ;)

I have two of these, except mine are a tad bigger because this one is obviously a puppy. These dogs are extremely friendly and will happily greet anyone they meet for the first time. Easy to house train and such too.

Awww wit! I want one!!
Great danes have lou deep barks that shatter the silence and you shit yourself.
Plus they steal all your bed covers cos they're so big. But my dog makes up for it, by looking pretty, and being easy to cuddle. (I don't break my back while cuddling her :D)

Ah balls, I neglected to mention the name. It's a King Charles Cavalier Cocker Spaniel.

Well I looked and though it really does look like her!

Dr_Rez 11-30-2009 01:41 AM

Golden Retrievers all day every day.

They act like puppies until there about 10. Mine (as featured in the picture to your left) is 6 and acts like a god damned 2 year old to this very day. Of coarse he is also 110 pounds and by the look of this thread a smaller dog is what your looking for.

Barnard17 11-30-2009 03:43 AM

You sure a beagle wouldn't do fine? Those are much easier to get hold of.

Guybrush 11-30-2009 04:29 AM

Hamiltons are not very good family dogs, it's a hunting breed. They require a lot of excercise and also need to excercise their hunting instincts. I don't think anyone should get one unless they either do hunting or spend a lot of time outdoors.

There are alternatives. Beagles are similar, but generally better family dogs.

When people get dogs, they should really think about what they were bred to do. Some are just not happy with a kind of average family life and they quickly turn into problem dogs.
