Where's that?

mr dave 01-27-2010 06:04 PM

i'm guessing connecticut.

either way, i was just curious since it seems to me that proper sex ed leads to less teen pregnancies and healthier habits overall. just that i also remember reading that it had been removed from a lot of schools over the last few years as well because some parent groups didn't want to have to own up to their kids that they liked to rub genitals.

Yeh, it's crazy that parent groups can pressure schools into teaching abstinence.

BTown 01-27-2010 06:24 PM

Well usually if the parents don't get their way they'll take their kids out of that school.

Do you's lot pay for primary school and academy then?

storymilo 01-27-2010 06:32 PM

I go to public (free) school.

BTown 01-27-2010 06:33 PM

Also I'm kind of confused right now.

Are you guys shocked by the way they are dancing or their age? Obviously everyone is shocked by how old thosse kids are but some of you are saying that dancing like that would be absurd no matter how old you were.
Considering at the dances at my school there is always grinding (dancing like that..if its called something different elsewhere). I'm wondering if I've just been really oblivious and haven't realized that only people from around where I live (Pennsylvania) dance like that?

FETCHER. 01-27-2010 06:35 PM

I don't know anyone who would dance like that truthfully.

It's the age mainly for me. And the fact that the teachers/parents are getting involved. That's actually the part that seriously, seriously disturbs me.

You live in Scotland? Come to America. My school had our homecoming dance cancelled because 6 girls got pregnant, a couple of them on the dancefloor. It's really not shocking to me anymore.

Nah, it's like that most places.

Well they'd be paying taxes no matter what school I went to. But semantically, we are paying for school.

It's not just semantics, it's like saying we have an army for free...

At my school dances there's lots of grinding, but it's never to the extent where you're dry humping/buttf**king through fabric as shown in this vid. Like I said, they're awful dancers.

You're ****ting me right? Wow.

What age are you again? 14-ish? Just Wow.

I do know a right good handful of girls my age who have children/are pregnant, but they atleast waited until they were legal

I wonder now how much of a reject I would be in America :(

I'm a freshman yeh. It's mainly the black and Latino kids with the crazy dancing and pregnancies, but white kids do drugs and have sex just as much if not more. There's lots of people who don't do that kind of thing though.

whether or not other people dance like that it doesn't change the fact that it looks like a dress rehearsal for a kiddie porn orgy.

littleknowitall 01-28-2010 07:36 AM

What creeped me out is not only that they allowed it but the fat bird dragged the two at the back off the wall as if to say "oy! why aren't you humping on the floor with all the other kids!?" who in their right ****ing mind encourages and demands that of children.

Tell me about it, or rather, tell my parents about it. My school just raised its tuition by $1,250, or 5%!

hahaha ask the next taxpayer you see how 'free' education and healthcare really is :p:

@Rickenbacker. how much is tuition now? first time i tried post secondary it was $1500 a year. last time i went through a year of schooling it was $2500. that's just domestic tuition, no books, fees, etc.

Astronomer 01-28-2010 08:48 PM

^ I'm a tax payer and health and education are free here... and as a tax payer I feel pretty good about it. I'm glad my taxes are going towards things that are useful.

Anyway, school dances seem like such an American thing. We had school 'socials' during high school but nobody went to them.

Freebase Dali 01-28-2010 11:17 PM

heh.. I dunno about the rest of America, but where I'm from, school dances were just a day that provided you an alibi from your parents who thought you were... dancing... at school... when you were actually getting drunk, high, and ass, in the backseat of a limo.

The professional picture sessions were just physical evidence to support your alibi.

same here in Canada but when it comes to post secondary education the tuition is subsidized, it was closer to $10 000 a year for an international student without subsidizes, and that was 10 years ago.

That's Cali for ya.
My high school's not that bad, our Homecoming was the biggest grindfest I've ever seen, and we have some pretty serious drug problems, but I guess that's pretty typical.

With the new increase, over 30k.

FETCHER. 01-29-2010 08:51 PM

Thats crazy money, thats roughly £18,755. Which is absolutely ridiculous money. I wouldn't even pay that for a car. You parents must be well off (not meaning to be cheeky) you're pretty lucky you have a very comfortable lifestyle.

30k just for tuition??? that doesn't include anything else? holy crap i would have never gone past high school.

Rickenbacker 01-30-2010 06:25 AM

It includes lunch :o:

But if its any justification, my school is ranked in the top ten or so high schools in the United States.

Farfisa 01-30-2010 10:07 AM

I never went to a school dance... I was too busy not giving two ****s. Anyway, that video was just ****ed up, that was in no way ok, that bitch who was supervising them needs to be back handed and beat the **** down.

Damn son.
The cost of tuition for ten people to attend your school is probably more than our school's yearly budget. And we're an art school.

dude i would have KILLED for tuition to include lunch hahaha. we had to choose between either eating during the week or drinking on the weekend. the mythical freshman 15 that everyone is supposed to put on in their 1st year? never happened haha

wait wait wait... 30k tuition... for HIGH SCHOOL??? i was talking post-secondary, community college at least.

lucifer_sam 01-31-2010 11:32 PM

It's called having money.

Yeah, I don't understand it either.
