you could say yes and no for me, someone tried to hook me up with this girl based off of musical tastes i like indie music like The National, Bon Iver, The Postal Service, Bright Eyes, etc... and well she considered indie music to be 30 seconds to mars, fall out boy, blink 182, paramore, etc... let's just say we didn't quite hit it off

The answer is simple, a lot of girls are too busy getting laid to give a f*ck about music. That's also why frat boys have such awful taste.
Introverts tend to have better taste in art overall because they have more free time on their hands and more gaps they need to fill from not having as much of a social life. As in we're likely to get more serious about these things because we got nothing better to do.

Never did anyone hook me up.
If they did, I'd wish it would be because of some common taste in music (or at least curiosity about music), films and books ...and not because we're both short and wear glasses.

Really? Movies tend to follow the "opposites attract" formula. Well not physically it's almost always hot guy meets hot girl but I mean in terms of personality.
I don't think a relationship could work if it was someone who was completely different from me but I wouldn't want a girl who was simply me with a vagina either.
