Monica was supposed to be obnoxious. The point is that her obnoxiousness was a result of how much she neurotically cared about how the world perceived her, which is a pretty relatable character trait.

Pheobe was kind of just a stereotype of a modern hippie new age person.

DwnWthVwls 03-29-2018 03:41 PM

Okay well just because a character is written well doesnt make them enjoyable. I literally wanted to punch the mother from Everybody Loves Raymond.

The Batlord 03-29-2018 03:59 PM

Just because a character is written well to be punchable doesn't make them not enjoyable.

DwnWthVwls 03-29-2018 05:32 PM

Yeah thats fine but for me that was not the case wih Monica. She just ruined parts of the show for me.

The Batlord 03-29-2018 05:38 PM

That's probably because you're Ross, you loser.

Akai 03-29-2018 05:44 PM

Dexter Reed is probably my favourite character if I had to choose one.

Neapolitan 03-29-2018 07:44 PM

I would steer clear of Friends. I didn't think the show was funny. It was painful to watch. It was total cringeville imo.

Norg 03-30-2018 12:07 AM

never really seen one episode ......

Friends has been super-popular in Mexico, and with good reason imo: it has lots of laughs, plus characters and situations we can relate to.

Not so sure about Freebase's reaction to Rachel, but I agree with him about Monica. I like the way she's young, attractive, full of energy, but at the same time has all these completely unfashionable neurosis driving her to do nerdy things. It's like she's constantly at war with herself.

Phoebe was my least favourite character of all; I felt like her wackiness was very contrived and didn't ring true. Also, she was tied up in all the dullest storylines; the search for her mum and the final appearance of her true father. Actually, now I come to think of it, he is my least favourite character of all.

As for the guys, I think Joey was often given the funniest lines and the job of providing comic relief when the romantic stuff was in danger of becoming cringe worthy. So, yeah, he'd be my favourite.

Cuthbert 03-30-2018 08:15 AM

I've never seen an episode of Friends either.

Same

I believe I watched the whole thing on the original run. You guys aren't missing out, there are better ways to waste your time than watching sitcoms that don't hold up well.

Embarrasing confessions time!

I used to have a sort of minor crush on Jennifer Aniston. She's had an absolutely crap acting career and I hate all movies I've seen her in. But many years ago, I used to watch Friends whenever I was bored and fell under her spell. I'm probably going to delete this comment when I'm back to being 100% sober.

What? She's hot. She's also aged into a hell of a milf and I'd say Brad Pitt actually traded down in hindsight.

And how can you not love Leprechaun?

I'm not really keeping tabs on who's dating who, but I know Brad Pitt was with Angelina Jolie at one point. If that's what you're referring to, I agree :D

Never saw Leprechaun, but I like this screenshot from it

I'd say having a crush on an actor you've never met is pretty pathetic. I was lonely, ok? Don't judge!

Cuthbert 04-06-2018 04:36 PM

I guess, I don't take the wording literally though.

I absolutely don't get the Anniston hype. She's attractive but doesn't amount to much more than a plain Jane.

He was married to Jennifer Aniston, then he did a movie with Angelina Jolie, ditched Jen, married Angie, and they've been together ever since as far as I know.

Bruh, it's high quality bad horror. The leprechaun kills a dude with a pogo stick.

The Batlord 04-06-2018 05:43 PM

Why did you change his name to George Clooney?

Mindfulness 04-06-2018 06:14 PM

too hard to pick one, its a really great show..

bring friends back.

Goofle 04-07-2018 06:06 AM

Ross is the best character imo. Most of the best episodes and funniest moments have him at the centre, he's probably the most complex and multi-dimensional character as well.

Chandler is my favourite though for obvious reasons.
