Do You Think You Will Live A Long Life?

I really can't see myself as an old man wearing diapers and having someone clean up after me. I want to die before I get old

does that make me self-destructive?

I used to think that I would die young when I was a kid. I never saw myself making it past 21. Now that I'm here, I fear a long, full life of tedious day-to-day struggle lay ahead. So I try not to think about it, and drink a lot, that helps.

No!
I'm going to stock up on morphine before I get to that stage...and when the time comes. /

EDIT: And no cracks about that not being far away either. :bringit:

I see myself getting careless and being involved in a terrible accident in the next 10 years. Hopefully this doesn't happen obviously, but I see it being more likely than me living into old age.

I voted dying via self destruction. My family lineage has a reputable amount of heart disease, alcoholism and high blood pressure and dying before fifty. My father has made it to 57, surviving multiple strokes and heart attacks along with many other health problems. Taking that into account, I've been balls deep in the live for the moment attitude for years as I feel at 24, I'm "Over the Hill"

...and I love to drink and drive.

no. it makes you someone who isn't noticing how many more old people there are already out there and how quickly their demographic is increasing. by the time we get old there should be plenty of new technology to replace the diaper action. hell, my parent's generation are already talking about reworking old folks homes into being more in line with the hippie communes they daydreamed about back in the 60s. by the time i get 'old' i fully expect to get my brain plugged into a VR system of sorts a la Matrix.

hell i had it planned to not make it into my 30s, now i most definitely want to stick around to see what sort of paranoid idiocy will show itself throughout the next two years.

but that's all based on the assumption we as a species don't go completely insane in the near future and wipe out most of the population through war and the 'good' fight for what is 'right' and 'freedom'. never mind that none of those terms can be specifically defined and are completely and utterly dependent upon the perspective of the individual considering the situation. but i suppose i'm talking like some kind of 'socialist' now.
