get the italian version with english subtitles. dunno about you but dubbed versions annoy me and the italian language adds to the beauty to me.

It's a classic kung fu movie from back when Jet Li was still making movies in China. If you're into kung fu movies at all then it's required viewing. There's a bit of wire fu (which I'm not really a big fan of), but some of the bitchin'est kung fu fights you'll ever see. I don't know if Jet Li could have taken Bruce Lee, but on camera he's more than a worthy successor. He can use an umbrella like no one else.

honestly i've never really cared for kung fu movies. but i might give it a shot sometime.

I love kung fu movies, especially ones about Wong Fei-Hung, but I was not a fan of Once Upon a Time in China. And I wouldn't call it a classic, as it came after the golden age of martial art movies, and was standard fare for it's time. However, I have to admit that the thing with the bullet at the end was pretty fun.

If you want to see Jet Li at his best, check out The Shaolin Temple from 1982 (his first movie).

It was probably the show "Kung Fu". David Carradine played the main character, and it first aired in 1972. You can find some clips on youtube, if you want to see if it's the show you're thinking of.

yep, looks like that was it. thanks

Oriphiel 01-22-2015 01:03 PM

No problem! If you decide to re-watch it, just remember that it can be very cheesy at times.
