Smartest poster - Tore
Most Missed Poster - Boo Boo (I know I'm a minority)
Biggest Drama Whore - Emostreetguitar
Biggest music nerd - Jackhammer
Funniest member - TheBig3
Angriest member - TheBig3.
Biggest Troll - Emostreetguitar
Most Improved Member - Dayvan Cowboy
Most virtuosic - Conan. ((Not the most technical musician by a LONG SHOT, but I think he makes better music than anyone here.))
Best new 2010 member - Dayvan Cowboy
Most Mainstream Music Taste - Emosteetguitar

Null vote on everything else.

Means a lot, man. Thanks!

Freebase Dali 12-14-2010 09:30 PM

Thanks to all of you who considered me in your noms! And thanks to those of you who didn't, as I now know who to ban!!! ;)

Most Underrated Poster
- Gavin B. Great journal, and his posts are insightful and intelligent, and he contributes a great deal, yet I don't hear much buzz about him.
Smartest poster - Barnard17. Sharp as a blade. Wish he came around more often.
Most Missed Poster - Ethan. For the lols.
Best Journal - Big3's Screaming At The Moon. Part of the interest of his journal is trying to figure out what the hell he's talking about, due to his fragmented approach to language structure. But when you do, it's always rewarding.
Biggest Drama Whore - Boo Boo. No further comment needed.
Sexiest Member (male) - Jackhammer. Mostly his arms, apparently.
Sexiest Member (female) - Dreadnaught. Great looks, plus she listens to underground hiphop so that adds to the sex appeal.
Best argumentalist - Barnard17. Ties in with his smarts.
Worst argumentalist - Dirty. He's capable of making an argument, but he's not capable of seeing any faults in it... or not willing... which makes debate rather pointless.
Best Writer - Anteater. The guy's journal should probably be published.
Biggest music nerd - Jackhammer. I don't know anyone here with as diverse a music taste and collection as him.
Funniest member - Janszoon. Even his  smileys are funny.
Angriest member - Big3
Nicest member - Vegangelica. For as much opposition as she gets regarding her personal beliefs, she still plays it cool.
Biggest Troll - Octanehugo. Will not say the album name, ever.
Biggest contributor - Jackhammer.
Most Improved Member - The jury is still out on this one.
Most virtuosic - Lateralus
Best avatar - All of LoathsomePete's avatars
Moderator of the Year - Mojo. He's always eager to get things done, doesn't mind doing them himself, is active in all the goings-on behind the scenes, and the poor guy holds down the fort during the times most other mods are not online. Although there are other candidates for this nomination, Mojo stands out for me.
Best new 2010 member - Dayvan Cowboy. Started some great threads right when she joined and hit the ground running as part of the community, and hasn't slacked off since she's been here. I would also like to include s_k as an honorable mention. He's only just arrived, but he's thoughtful and is an audio and computer techie so I'm obliged to dig that.
Member of the Year 2010 - Duga. I could say a lot of good things about him, all of which apply to my nominating him for this category. But I would just like to say that those qualities were recognized by a lot of people and he was a thumbs up all around for mod, and since I couldn't pick two folks for best mod, he gets this category hands down.
Most Mainstream Music Taste - Too hard to say definitively.
Most Obscure Music Taste - Dankrsta
Best Thread Starter - Can't really answer this one.
Best Mediator - Duga. Newer mods seem to have more patience than older ones, so I'm going with him, although I think all of the mods are good at what they do regardless of their styles. I'd have gone with a regular member if one stood out beyond the mods.

Is the voting going to be anonymous again this year like last time so that the winners are a surprise?

someonecompletelyrandom 12-14-2010 10:20 PM

What I don't understand is... pretty much everyone who nominates will vote, right? So why not just count noms as votes?

Thanks, I don't mind sharing that with Dayvan Cowboy.
I just wonder how they are going to use this in the ratings.
0,5 points for each of us?

Honourable mention doesn't mean you get the vote, he's voting Dayvan but mentioning you to be nice.

Thats entirely up to you lot. I did suggest sending nominations via PM but everyone did it here, bar one person.

I felt it was fairer this way. Thats the way we did it last year too. Doing it this way means everyone gets ther opportunity to nominate any member they want, ideally not influenced by the nominations of others. If people agree with you then chances are the member you nominated will make the shortlist and if your nomination was ultimately in vain then you still get a chance to vote in the final round.

Its when people are too easily swayed by the nominations of others or change their vote in the final round that it becomes unfair but personally I dont see why anybody would do either of those things.

Thanks for the nominations, Satchmo and Violent & Funky!

Ah, I was distracted while reading it. I read 'honourable member'.
Already thought it was a pretty funny way of saying things :).
Well-deserved vote for Dayvan ;).
(It's not like I care to win, but I'm very flattered with some of the things people have to say about me).

Oh by the way, now that I have found out that you dont absolutely have to put a name behind every award, I figured I'll have a go at this too. Probably will only make 10 nominations, but that's fine, apparently.
I will do this on thursday when I get home.
I'm at my ex girlfriends house now with my Toshiba NB100 which has a tiny keyboard and low resolution. It's pretty annoying to look at lists and type a lot. So, yeah... Period. Till thursday ;)
