Food for Thought

OK this is another boredom inspired thread, but what is the strangest thing you like to eat ? I eat lots of weird stuff, but i'll start you out with something mild: peanut-butter and swiss cheese sandwiches (MMMMM!!!!)

Trauma 04-07-2005 06:25 PM

beef jerky, king dongs, and twinkies....just because, you know..hmm, the names...

SATCHMO 04-07-2005 06:50 PM

That's not what I mean though. Those are prepackaged foods. Now if you put mustard on your twinkies we'd be gettin' somewhere.

Trauma 04-07-2005 07:06 PM

Ah I see...In that case...I guess when I make eggs over-easy and wrap them in ham and put them on bread and put peanut-butter on the bread and eat it.

Are you makin' that up?

Trauma 04-07-2005 07:13 PM

nope, I have it on Saturdays when I feel like making eggs.

Trauma 04-07-2005 07:14 PM

it's delish.

Wow! And I thought I was messed up. This is unbeatable. I like to drink the water that you strain from cans of tuna fish. Its like a delicacy to me !!!!

Trauma 04-07-2005 07:20 PM

No no, that is unbeatable!!! Water coming from the tuna fish can...eww, you don't just dump that out lol?

SATCHMO 04-07-2005 07:32 PM

NO WAY !!!!!!!!!! Its the best EVER !!!!!!! (I, consequently, don't blame anyone for thinking I'm crazy or disgusting)

I bet that's super good too!

donkeynutz 04-07-2005 08:14 PM

small children, trees, ice cream

jibber 04-07-2005 08:18 PM

ok this is a swedish thing called levsa, you take mashed potatoes and mix them with flower to create a dough, roll it really thin and in the shape of a circle and fry it. Then once its done, you spread butter and sugar on it, and fold it in half, then in half again to create a triangular like shape. It sounds odd, but it's soooo good.

Trauma 04-07-2005 08:30 PM

yes that might in fact top drinking water from the tuna can.

jibber 04-07-2005 08:36 PM

^ no seriously, it is some of the best food ever. lets see, what other odd foods do I eat....yeah I can't think of anything right now.

Trauma 04-07-2005 08:38 PM

yes just levsa, that sounds healthy if it tastes good. :thumb:

well I dont think this is weird or strange, but my favorite dish is this indian bread called naan, and I dip it in this green sauce they call mint sauce. It made my friend sick, and I always hear jokes about how bad Indian food is, but I happen to love the sh*t. I like the tandoori spice too, *mmm mmm.
Still of all the foods mentioned, there's nothing as sick and bizaare as eating McDonalds.

SATCHMO 04-07-2005 09:16 PM

Peanut butter, banana, and Chocolate frosting sandwiches - OUT OF THIS WORLD !!!!!!!

jibber 04-07-2005 09:24 PM

^^ I love naan bread, I practically grew up on the stuff. Also, this stuff we used to have all the time in Saudi, zatar, some more great food.

xEmochicKx 04-07-2005 09:49 PM

I dip my nachos in peach yoghurt. Sounds odd and my friend made me try it by force and it was actually good

i am not emo 04-08-2005 05:24 AM

cheese and jam sandwiches... and raw potatoes...

Waynegrow 04-08-2005 06:25 AM

Artachoke hearts<-learn how to spell you illitarate ****.Love them ****s to death.

Sweet Jane 04-08-2005 06:41 AM

When I was a kid we made ice cream drinks with juice and ice cream in a glass, and ate them with crisps, but I always put my crisps in the glass too. Now, the weirdest thing is probably not that weird. Baked potato with macaroni cheese, and my gran makes fairy cakes but rolls them in cornflakes before putting them in the oven. They look ridiculous but they're delicious, think they're called Melting Moments.

I love naan bread. So good. They frown on having one of those home delivered, I think you're supposed to order something else but I can't really eat much more after one of those!!

There's nothing strange about eating artichoke hearts - they're good as hell, especially on garlic pizza.

mars bar fritters. mars bars deep fried in batter and frosted with icing sugar, hot fudge and occasionally ice cream. im not generally much on sweet things, and this is the sweetest thing ever. they're only fun sized mars bars, but i can never finish it.

KingJen 04-09-2005 02:15 AM

I like cooking pork chops under the grill... and then I put Apple sauce on and then I grate cheese on top and then out it back under the grill til the cheese has melted and has gone a little brown. and it is yummy.

Another weird delicacy... Marmite, love it or hate it?

Personally, I love it!

OK first of all. Mars bar fritters. That's F**KED up!!! However in this thread that is the goal and I also have no room to talk cuz, as you can see, I eat some nasty s**t (Nasty to other people, that is). I tried vegimite once and it was one of those foods that the whole time your eating it your trying to develop an opinion of it, but I never could develop an opinion beyond just thinking it was really really strange food. Of coarse Vegimite will eternally remind me of the Men At Work song Land Down Under "He just smiled and gave me a vegimite sandwich".
