I never really liked them to begin with, so I guess that's a good thing.

This is the RIP thread. I have every right to be here, duh. Unknown ppl are not any less important.

I don't know you. If you died tomorrow, sure I would be like "man, im sorry they died" but I wouldn't go out of my way to wonder who you were, what you were doing, or figure out the cause of death. Famous people are already in the light, so the news picks up on it very quickly making it easier for people like me to get the information.

Nobody's is saying they aren't. But it might have escaped your notice so I'll remind you THIS IS A MUSIC FORUM so we're more likely to dedicate R.I.P threads to musicians here than to others.

If you want to speak about the 51 that have died, there is a thread for that as far as I can see.

Well, this is gonna go round and round in circles.

This is the RIP thread. You may post about anyone who has died here. Whether that is numerous people in a natural disaster, or a musician, and the latter would probably be very relevant to a lot of people who frequent here given that this, you know, a music forum.

The people posted about here do not need to be ranked in order of importance. Please feel free to post about anyone you want in here, and likewise please don't question the content others post here.

Why is everyone being such a jerk? If we didn't question things there would be no discussion on ****ing ANYTHING. Just a constant wankfest over the same boring posts.
Just like how it was before all these trolls joined. It was no1curr about anything of substance zone.

but that said I do agree with saying you can mourn however you want, and whatever you want :)

Burning Down 05-21-2013 12:23 PM

I'm just wondering who "all these trolls" are.

CrazyVegn 05-21-2013 12:23 PM

I didn't see anyone being a jerk, TBH. . .

They were all rude to you for you saying your own opinion, I mean, it's just your opinion, you're not hurting anyone.

but again, my opinion. If you disagree, the subject will be dropped :)

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-21-2013 12:29 PM

Almost as rude as being told who you should be allowed to mourn.

I agree, but ganging up on someone is even ruder.

Mojo 05-21-2013 12:31 PM

Personally I don't think it's just an opinion when it was worded in such a way that doesn't say "I think we should all mourn these people too" but rather "Why would you mourn him when you should be mouring these people?"

And thats when people will attack you.

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-21-2013 12:32 PM

You say something stupid people pick up on it.
You've been here long enough to know that.

Ignoring everyone else who is stating the obvious for reasons unknown other than to get attention, I totally agree with this.

Just because you guys don't like these new trolls doesn't mean you all have to hop on my dick again.

I'm trying to help out a new person, isn't that a mod's job? Maybe you (not you in particular Neil) should start doing your jobs properly?

You know, instead of resorting to petty insults.

ANYWAYS definitely a great loss in Ray Manzarek, I love the **** he did with X. A very talented guy who doesn't get enough attention imo. Jim Morrison was garbage in comparison.

Urban Hat€monger ? 05-21-2013 12:51 PM

Except for the fact that people keep taking stupid **** I say personally when I'm not even talking to them at all, again, and a mod is harassing me just for stating my opinion, again, which just got me banned when I didn't even really do anything. It's not like I can take it to PM instead because mods have been dicks to me every time I post. I tried to bring it back on topic and be nice at the same time, but apparently since you yourself have this life long vendetta against me for (no reason again), I'm accused of "creating drama". That's kind of bs and you kinow it.

So again, how about we stop this petty bull**** and stay on topic, yeah?

RIP Fox

Do you ever notice how common it is for people to use roadkill in their art? I ****ing hate that. It's so cliche and stupid.

What I posted is no way an insult to you.

You claimed the post in question was simply an expression of an opinion and I don't agree with that. And I don't mean for this to sound confrontational but you did just promote questioning things.

I also think I did do my job in my initial response to it. To explain exactly what in their post I believe prompted such a response and attempt to draw a line under it and avoid this conversation going around and around in circles as it has and still is. It obviously didn't work but that was my intent.

PoorOldPo 05-21-2013 01:00 PM

I guess it is part of modern life, and touches quite a lot of people.

Are you fucking delusional or just a shit disturber?

First off, you came onto a thread meant to just give a message to someone who impacted you, regardless of who it is. Which is what people were doing.

We are aware that 51 people lost their lives, and that unknown people are people as well. But to come onto a thread and say "um no"... to people who were just choosing to show their support to someone who impacted them.(remember this is *music* banter not natural disaster banter.... we will of course, show support to those who died in the music world)

You are playing this selective mourning thing, and acting as if because we do not say on here that we will mourn that 51 who died, that we are somehow being insulting to their memory. We are not.

Please get your meds adjusted, you need help.

Oh I know, that's why I excluded you from my post. You responded just how I would expect (without being rude) so that's why I said "not Neil". It does sound confrontational but you know me well enough I wasn't starting drama I think. In spite of recent events. I really was just trying to be nice to the new person. So they don't make the same mistake.

I think it's a cheap way of getting attention and it makes for bad art, since it's dishonest.

Neither and after reading your post I'm not the one who needs help. . . :(

BastardofYoung 05-21-2013 01:10 PM

No, you really are in need of help if you feel the need to come onto a thread like this and pull that card.

It is weak minded and pathetic. You can come on here and say RIP to them, but to derail a thread with such non-sense is disgraceful behavior. It truly is, it is sick and uncalled for.

If you are just here to do that, and you are here to start some debate here of that nature, I feel sorry for you.

If you are trolling... that is even worse.

Whatever. I just have no tolerance for those who do this. You see it all to often, someone always has to chime in with it. When someone dies, people will come on and be like "oh, what about these 51 people died here, they are people to"

I am not bothered by people who can show some respect for them, and just say a RIP to them, and say their peace for them. That is one thing. But is quite another to derail a thread like this, just to make people feel like assholes, and pull the "they are people too" card.

If you feel the need to be "um no, what about the 51 people who died" card in such a provocative way, in my mind, that is pretty weak.

We can mourn who we like, without having someone come on and try to change it like that.

Hey, I say RIP to those people too, and I think this person is right, unknown people are people too who deserve to be mourned, especially when it comes to a disaster. They deserve it too.

But if you feel the need to be childish and derail it in such a way, and then sit there and be like "oh, people always come down on me and I don't know why.. I am used to it"... what is that saying.

You think you can just say bat shit crazy stuff, and people won't jump in and be like... come on, that is pathetic...

Just say your peace, but don't act like that. It is childish and uncalled for.

If I sound harsh on this person, it is because of that. I mean, come on now...
