Congrats to our gay community

Congratulations to our gay MB members on the Gay Marriage vote in New York today!

Although I don't share your sexual orientation, I do share in the belief that you should have the same rights as I do, and that the love you share with your partner should be treated with the same respect and rights as any "traditional" relationship. Today was an important day. May it lead to further advancement of an equality of rights for all people.

Enjoy this day as it is special. May many more follow until equality is shared by all.

Good to hear. In 50 years America's gone from homosexuality being illegal to giving it marriage rights.

I was thinking about that.

In the future when kids are reading in the textbooks they are going to be all wtf? like really? homosexuality was illegal and why'd it take us so long to give them marriage rights.

We were pretty close to passing same sex marriage in my state, but I think it just died and there's been no word since. I just think you should be able to marry the person you love regardless of your/their gender. The only problem I have about some gays is that the few I've known would always flaunt their sexual preferences and make inappropriate sexual jokes.

that's not even a problem in my books. Some gays are more flamboyant than others and there is nothing wrong with that.

The main issue that was holding up the NY vote for so long was that churches didn't want to get sued for discrimination if they didn't want to agree to marry a homosexual couple so they had to put in a clause for them to be able to deny to perform services if they don't want to.
