Default Who here is a muso?

Okay over here there are certain types of people that study and perform music. There is a huge number of them that hang out together, wearing second hand clothes that don't match and getting into philosophical discussions about the Beatles. Drugs are the way of inspiration of course and are dreadlocks. They are called Muso's. How many music geeks on here follow this same pattern? I feel like we are little bit more, dare I say, original than that.

I think the more appropriate word is 'tool'. No offense to musos. I just don't understanding what the point of having the 'rock guy' attitude is, and have to pose.

I'd imagine that if I became a professional music expert, I'd become the tweed jacket wearing spectacled balding middle-aged man who smokes pipes and occasionally blows people away on the marxophone rather than the ironic hipster deutschbag type.

Ditto.

Unless I guess she's just talking about Hipsters in general or Hippies. It's hard to tell.

I'm not sure we have that exact type over here. The kind of people here who wear thrift store clothes and take pop music way too seriously would never in a million years have dreadlocks and would mercilessly mock those who did.

Hahaha. This.

Honestly, especially with the second hand clothes thing, I actually am kinda in there. And I would love dreads if I could manage to grow them, and have philosophical discussions out the wazoo (not about the Beatles). But I don't do drugs, and DEFINITELY don't hang out in a clique of people all exactly like me. Plus, I'm way more concerned with other things besides music. For instance, hanging out in the worst parts of town and helping those in need, or making a social change in the world... rather than ignoring it and hanging out with morons.

And that is my probably nonsensical contribution to the thread!

Well, I study and perform music, but that's about it. I think this is the first time I've heard about people like that. I guess they're like hipster-types?
