really important: deleted files

ok so i got a big problem, i dunno if anyone can help. my sister has deleted all my poems in my computer. they were saved in notepad and they aren't anywhere.. (so don't even suggest to check recycle bin cause i did that..)
so.. the big question i'm afraid to ask: CAN I GET THEM BACK??
this happened like 2-3 weeks ago.. i've heard something about some "document recovery".. i dunno what to do... please help?

There is a glimmer of hope
http://www.save-my-data.com
There is free recovery software on that site that should be able to get back you're deleted files.
I've never lost anything that important myself so i've never used these kinds of program. Hope it works

blackTshirt 05-06-2005 03:49 AM

walkin' dude 05-06-2005 04:17 AM

Yeah, sorry, that website was w**k.
Try this http://www.driveservice.com/stellar/...#downloadsarea
or http://cddataguys.com/undelete-unera...very/index.htm
Its only a demo though so I don't know how effective they will be.

Do a system restore, and set it back to 5 or 4 weeks ago..(depending on when she deleted them, you have to set it back to the day before, but do a couple days before so you can be safe).

It'll be back. I've done it quite a few times when I've downloaded some viruses etc.

^Nice one. Didn't think of that

Just not in this case. :)

Hmm... I didnt know system restore brought back deleted documents. I thought it only restored changed/deleted programs.

IamAlejo 05-06-2005 10:42 AM

I think it depends on the computer. Because I know I have. I deleted all of Kazaa (i.e. the shared folder, etc) and when I did my system restore I my shared folder came back with the songs in tact.

Pimp_racer 05-06-2005 12:50 PM

how do u do it?

blackTshirt 05-06-2005 02:20 PM

yeah, exactly.. how do you do the system restore thingy??

blackTshirt 05-06-2005 02:20 PM

anyway... thank all of you guys for helping.. i hope i can do it

IamAlejo 05-06-2005 02:47 PM

Go to start..."help and support" and you should read something on system restore. Click it. Follow directions.

blackTshirt 05-06-2005 03:05 PM

i did that. it shut down and then restarted by itself and said it worked fine BUT I DIDN'T GET THEM BACK!!! now what??

IamAlejo 05-06-2005 03:25 PM

Hmmm...that's my only guess. I figured it worked for Kazaa files might work for that. Try one of the other's suggestions.

Hi!
If you've deleted the files, you need a file recovery program to try & get them back! For example, check ihavenocomprehensionoftimeorindeedhumandecency.com. Just make sure that you have really deleted them, use your computer's search to look for a few of the file names.

The quality of spamsmanship in the above post is phenomenal.
Or is it just me?
