real smart dude. while i'm not denying that there has been cases of polic brutality in the past the vast majority are responsible UN-RACIST adults who enforce the laws handed down from congress. real "punx" of you to insult cops.

walkin' dude 05-17-2005 09:33 AM

Cops....... I smell a pork product of some kind......

Nah, the police are just people trying do a hard job as well as they can.
You don't have to like 'em but you've got to give them respect for what they have to do in their working life

blackTshirt 05-18-2005 01:10 AM

LEFTOVER CRACK LYRICS

"So You Wanna Be A Cop?"

[Stza]

So you wanna be a cop?
so you wanna be on the top
arrestin and shootin' all the kids on the block
incarcerate the youth of the next generation
and you get the high fives at the police station

[Ezra]

so you wanna wear blue
and prey on the people
go above the constitution where all men are equal
beat down the poor, the working class core
your a class trading mother****ing rich man's whore

[Stza]

'cuz it's a thin blue line between the love and the hate
if you so choose to cross it you're a nazi for the state
your injustice will crush us, the precious the few
so you wanna be a killer for the red white and blue

[Ezra]

you're a bitch to the crown
keep your own people down
you've got nothing to protect
but you're keeping the sect
for your own damn brothers you got no respect
and the killing won't stop when you become a cop

* the worlds getting madder and it ain't gonna stop
it's an uphill battle all the way until we reach the top
you got an answer in your holster
and no question to kill
you got a vision for society
and it's your will

[Stza / Ezra]

even the summer sun can't make this situation light
you've got the upper hand in a war
when you take away our arms and our means to fight

[Stza]

so you wanna be a cop?
you never stop with your wicked guns going pop
after 41 shots your grinning in the donut shop
your sickening behavior regulates this society
and musters all the sickness & hatred inside of me

[Ezra]

so you wanna wear blue?
well you're just the type
got an chip on your shoulder and an itch for a gripe
standing on a raft in an ocean of blood
but you're doin the killing and causing the flood

[Stza]

how can we tolerate this mad abuse of power?
you think a cop is never psycho till he stabs you in the shower
choking v
morning g
L.O.C
we never stop
and your death'll be sweet if ya wanna be a cop

[Ezra]

they say the sea is green and the sky is blue
and thats about right because we're below you
you cop an extra attitude when you come down my block
so you wanna be a cop?

* the worlds getting madder and it ain't gonna stop
it's an uphill battle all the way until we reach the top
you got an answer in your holster
and no question to kill
you got a vision for society
and it's your will

[Stza]

even the summer sun can't make this situation light
you've got the upper hand in a war
when you take away our arms and our means to fight

honestly, where would our society be if there wasn't an organisation that kept the order...i personaly think, from personal experience, that cops are not the brightest creatures on the planet, but i love it when people talk **** about cops , then when some sh.it happens, like you get robbed or your mama gets guned down in a drive by, and then cops are your best friends...

Sneer 05-18-2005 09:49 AM

dont you love people who try far too hard to be punk. they just look pathetic. punk_for_life, what would society be like without the police? it would be absolute mayhem. its only a miniscule percentage of police that use brutality. think logically before trying to make a statement.

walkin' dude 05-18-2005 10:03 AM

Punk-4-life.. Your not gonna go out and kill a policeman and then kill yourself and start all that "he listened to Leftover crack, it's their lyrics subversing our youth, blah, blah, blah...... lets take the band to court".

'Cause that would be stupid :)

I hope you dont mind me adding my 2 cents to this. First, There's no denying the necessity of law enforcement. But, there are other forms of "brutality" and abuse-of-power that aren't noticed by all, such as harassment. Believe it or not, cops lie. I've seen several that will take advantage of people (particular young adults) who aren't fully familiar with the laws. Innocent people get cuffed, taken downtown, some thrown in jail, others must go through tedious court appearances and tickets, and all for nothing done wrong at all. If you've ever had to go through with it, you'd know. Even petty tickets can often involve numerous visits with the Courts and dreadful lawyers. That's really more of an issue with the justice system, I won't get into that any further.
After 9/11, sh*t's different, at least in the US. Search and seizure laws have been loosened up more than Ryan Seacrest. Police only need loosely-defined "probable cause" and/or "suspicion", and if you were to refute it in court, there's a 99% chance the judge will side with the cop's story over yours. The biggest problem here is racial discrimination against Arab-Americans. Recently in my town, a very wealthy, respected businessman was arrested on suspicion of funding certain organizations. He spent time in jail, and was later found 'not guilty'. Unfortunately during that time, all his $$ went down the crapper thanks to legal fees, and his business no more. And, will the government compensate for his losses? F*ck no.
Cops break the law. If they are the police, who will police the police? When cops are put on trial, they aren't treated like your typical Joe Sixtooth. They are "given a slap on the wrist" and for misdemeanors, they may be forced to take a leave-of-absence or a paycut. For felonies, some find ways to avoid any jail time.

I'm not saying these things are always the case. But sure, there's gonna be a few bad apples. And I think you have to realize, the victims of these 'bad apples' have every right to feel remorse. And, this is just the US I'm talking about. In certain areas of the world, the police are the biggest criminals of all.
