i find it funny that every year when the UK representatives go through a national competition to see who will be our entry, the winner is always full of confidence, giving us promises of victory- despite the fact 99.9% of the population knows their talking bull****. the UK isnt exactly the most popular of european countries. lets join the euro- then we'll win.

Plus if we get the euro we'll hopefully have those UKIP f@gs out of the way and i won't have to keep changing my money every time I go to Dublin or different countries.

Sneer 05-22-2005 07:26 AM

i was joking. if we adopt the euro i may emigrate to australia. handing over our british heritage and history to men in suites sitting in brussels. no thankyou.

ladyluckrules 05-22-2005 07:33 AM

 We won't lose all of our heritage just because we change our pound coins

I'd hate to have the euro...im bad at maths so i'd probably end up spending too much money on something and getting ripped off. also, then theres no fun of going to another country and using different money, and i think i'd just prefer to stick to my pounds and pence. but yeah...hmm....no point in changing currency just to get a higher place in the eurovision song contest, i mean, do we really want it in England?

Sneer 05-22-2005 07:48 AM

Britain is the model for Europe and has been for 1000 years. We don't need the rest of Europe and never have. We don't need others meddling in our affairs. To join the EU would be to lose our identity and traditions. we have one of the most successful economies in the world so why change it? the next step from joining the euro would be joining the EU constitution- handing over most of our affairs and heritage to federates in brussells. anyway, back to the topic. who won last night?!

ladyluckrules 05-22-2005 07:51 AM

Yeah, that would be the funniest thing if we did have Eurovision over here! Ah i wouldn't argue with anyone over the euro it's not like I can vote for or against it.

ladyluckrules 05-22-2005 07:55 AM

I think it was..Greece?

Imonlydancing 05-22-2005 08:18 AM

hmm....yeah, okay we are against the euro, and i cant vote against it either...im too young. Oh yeah, i think my brother told me it was Greece....

buddy, i think you forget that you ARE in the EU , you're just not in the EMU ( european monetary union ), and you also forget that you're economy would not be as developed as it is ,if you didn't have free trade with the rest of the EU ( the structure of this sentence seems a bit off...ah well, you know what i mean )
back to eurovision, i must confess, i avoided it almost successfully, but i accidentally turned it on while norway was on , and was traumatized thoroughly...i don't even know how croatia did...and it is very political these days...but most neighbors vote for themselves because they simply relate to their songs more ( for example the nordic countries always vote for themselves, and so do the ex-yugoslav countries, mainly because we understand the language...i personally wouldn't vote like that, but then again, i wouldn't vote at all, because 99 percent of the songs are pure sh.it, composed according to a pattern that will supposedly guarantee the victory..)
