I would sometimes say "I could care less...." wait for someone to inhale and be about to correct me "...but I can't be bothered".

I find that I generally say, "I could NOT care less," with unnecessary emphasis on the word, 'not.' Most people 'round these here parts say, "I could care less."
I don't correct them or anything. I mean, I know what they mean when they're saying it, and that's enough for me. Personally, though, I wouldn't use the incorrect form. I don't hold others to the same grammatical standards, because conversational English in America is so far removed (in far more ways than just this) from more "literary" or "academic" English. |

I'm most bothered by the elementary mistakes, like to/too, your/you're, and their/they're/there. Today, I again encountered “defiantly” (definitely). That one gets to me too.

"Defiantly" might arise from spell check replacing a mispelling of "definitely." Still that is two mistakes 1) a mispelling and 2) not paying attention to spell check. I think it comes down to not being careful what one writes. When I see those mistakes I kinda wonder how many people actually take time to do a quick proof reading of what they write. |
The intolerance here is a little too much. ;)

However the spelling of "organizing" is better than "organising." I don't really mind the phrase "I could care less." I always thought it implied the person did "care" but came to the point where he's questioning that (usually out of some frustration). Quote:

I only ever correct those sort of mistakes if the person making them is in the middle of calling someone else an idiot/to go back to school etc.

Just saw something that I think is appropriate for this thread.
People who say "Debating going out to X place" absolutely boils my piss. This does not make sense. Who are you debating with? You're not. You're considering going. |

I can't stand when people clear their throat, tap, click pens, sniff or any noisy repetitiveness. My tolerance is low. Freebase people over here say exctra exctra which is even worse!

How is one "allergic to dust"? It's not even a specific thing. You're either allergic to your own skin cells, airborne dirt, pollen, hairs, animal dander, paper particles, clothes particles, or pretty much any particle. Never gonna escape. You must be having histamine overreactions 24/7 and needing constant hospital supervision and hypo-allergenic environments.
Damn. Allergies are nothing to f*ck with. |

I'm watching Cotto vs Trout in the boxing now and they have music they walk out to, if I was a boxer I wouldn't even bother with hyped music to get me in the mood as I walk to the ring, I'd just walk out to a looped recording of a smoker coughing and I'd be ready to kill guys. |
