Quotes of the year

We all put our foot in it at times --- god knows I have! --- some people more than most. What's your favourite stupid/silly/inane or amusing quote that a poster has made in the last year? I'm torn between that one about crying being only for girls and the one about David Bowie from TVC15, you know, the one saying you have to judge artistes on how handsome they are or something.

Mind you, Norg's one in my sig takes some beating! And mention must be given to The Batlord's hilarious slant on what you can do with a dictionary (see his journal)...

So, anyone else?
DISCLAIMER: this thread is not intended to be racist, sexist or poke fun at anyone (NORG NORG NORG!) :D in anything but a gentle, amused way. Please don't take offence and if you do then please eff off. :)

PS Feel free to quote me if you think I fall into this category... I can take it.
(But be prepared to see me in court...) :jailed:

Remember the guy who was asking for a girl to go to a Nickelback concert with him? I'll try and find the extract. It was priceless.

Sansa Stark 01-02-2013 05:55 PM

I thought that was Pearl Jam

EDIT: Got it.

Hey y'all, hope everyones well, my names Jack and Im a grunge rocker from England, 18 years old. Kurt Cobain and Eddie Vedder are my inspirations in life, such powerful meaningful music, with true emotion, grunge rock forever, and Rest in Peace Kurt Cobain.
Nirvana are my ultimate favourite band, alongside Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Ozzy Osbourne etc.

Anyway on topic, I have two tickets to Pearl Jams gig in Manchester, England, in June, and Im searching for a kind beautiful girl who is into grunge music or just Pearl Jam, to share the experience with. Im so hyped but I dont want to go alone, so girls, if you are interested please hit me up on Facebook - Jack Snell, went to Skegness Grammar School, from Tembisa Gauteng.

I dont expect any payment, this is an invitation and being with a lovely girl at the gig means more to me than money. Also Im not a creep, please dont judge me, Im a kind genuine guy and Im quite willing to meet up before the gig, so you can get to know me better.

Message away please girls,
Jackx :hphones:

Well I almost ended up homeless because along with my job ending so does my housing because they provide me with housing. Instead now I'm going to be living in a room about 7'x7' for $700/mo, still dont have a job to pick up after this one ends, half way across the country from family and they are failing at their business so I have nobody to rely on. I've graduated college and still can't get a job so now I have a **** ton of debt for a degree that helps me just to go do more school (which i'm taking a break from).
And I just took a break in the middle of this rant to go pick up some refuse furniture for my tiny room and come to found it it's been thrown out so now I have no bed.
I'm also still in love with my ex who dumped me 2 years ago.
And...yeah, I guess that kinda sums up everything. I'm sure there is more, but I don't wanna keep thinking of stuff.

Did you send him a friend request on Facebook? I'm going to be surprised if you didn't.

14232949 01-02-2013 06:06 PM

Just fired him a friend request. Here's a pic of the sexual deviant.

Been in my sig ever since that happened. :)

Exo 01-02-2013 11:17 PM

Mine is in my sig. It is not Tom Waits.

14232949 01-03-2013 08:04 AM

This one's an early contender for 2013's quote of the year.

Yeah, that's the one! He wasn't even being pithy, which is what makes it so funny!

It isn't? Why does it say his name after it then? Also, I'm pretty sure I heard him say that in an interview, although of course he may have been quoting someone. I think the proper quote is "I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy"...

Wow! Rarely does anyone peg us so accurately, right from the off! And he says that like it's a bad thing...

I was just saying that I have two quotes in my signature and the one that isn't Tom Waits was my favorite of the year. And just to answer your comment, he's said that quote a couple of times. It isn't his but I love how he says it. The quote in my sig was when he said it on a talk show.

Em, that's what the thread is for?? That was the whole idea behind it, or did I not make that clear? Sorry, I thought I had.

Right, right, I see! Thought I was going even more senile there for a moment... So it's not his own? Really sounds like something he'd come up with, though, don't it? Specially during like a piano interlude on "Nighthawks" or something...

I'll be right back?

oh wait, does that just happen to me.......?
ah, :/

Exo 01-12-2013 07:51 AM

Did you just quote Terminator? What?

Dulce 07-26-2013 05:40 PM

Sorry.

14232949 07-26-2013 05:44 PM

^ is that a Norg quote?

Stephen 07-26-2013 06:44 PM

These two quotes were my favourite responses to Ass Napkin Ed during his protracted discussion/trolling about what constitutes slutiness. Not really in the vein of the OP for inanity but just general amusement and I didn't want to start a new thread.

I don't believe you understand. Lost is also over, so it wouldn't be the quotes of this year. Welcome to the board.

Lies! The tenth season starts in September. I'm really curious to see how Sawyer is going to escape the volcano that he was teleported into by the psychic polar bear at the end of season nine.
