Are You Weird or Normal?

Now this is a thread about what people consider themselves to fit, on the normal scale or the weird scale. Obviously normal is very subjective because it's very hard to define normal these days. But on a personal level do you consider yourself odd? Or weird? Or different?

Give examples on why you consider yourself either one. Personally I find myself to be weird and have been told so many times during my lifetime. I did many strange things when I was young like going to the school chapel and singing songs by myself, walking into the sea with my school shoes on (after being told not to) and cutting headphone cords because I felt like it.

These days I feel very unusual compared to most girls I see around or know. I laugh at strange things, I bring sex up in way too many conversations, I'm a gamer, I love IT and statistics and I am obsessed with SciFi. Most people I have told that I am studying IT are shocked because it tends to be a field completely dominated by men. I'm not sure why more girls don't do it. In my class there is like 2 girls aside from me out of 200. Most girls my age are married, have kids and a career while spending their weekends socialising and drinking while obsessing over chick flicks.

I personally think being weird is not a bad thing at all! I feel like it makes me different, unique and that I can contribute to society in different ways. It also makes me realise that I relate to guys a hell of a lot better than women. My whole life I have had a huge group of guy mates from primary school, to high school and in University.

I'm really interested in how people see themselves when comparing their traits to others and what personal behaviours tend to put you in the weird or normal bracket.

Compared to most people I would say I am weird, or at least openly weird. I am sure everyone on the planet has their strange attributes but don't always let them out for whatever reason. I am quite comfortable embracing it - which is probably the main difference between "weirdos" and "normal" people.

I do find it quite grating when - in general - people say "I am well weird me" because they laugh at something minute or whatever. That's entirely normal to me. So is liking certain genres of entertainment. I think it's more subtle than that. But then again, that would probably mean I am not weird at all. Maybe.

I think this a great point that I'd like to get across because deep in side most people are weird or quirky but many chose to keep in from coming out so to speak, whereas others (like me) are confident and let the quirks out.

Normal would be to me as "stable" and "honest" and "self aware" I guess
