Talking Weddings

I'm going to my first private wedding this year in November. I'm stoked. My niece is getting married to her sweetheart of seven years now. I'm so happy for 'em and love conquers all. I dunno what to wear, makeup, shoes, hair, nails, etc. I'm so nervous it hurts. Have you been to any of your family/friends weddings? How is the experience, vibes, energy, horizon, surface, views, atmosphere, scenery etc. Any tips for me is awesomely appreciated. Thanks in advance! Cheers to the future! Take care.

ummm pretty much you just go to a church and the wedding lasts like 15-25 minutes. then you wait forever for bride and groom to get to the reception cause the bride wants 5 million pics. then you eat some food and do dances like the funky chicken and electric slide. hopefully there is booze. then you sit and judge how well you know the couple and how that relates to what time you should leave

Last time I was at a wedding I ended up drunk and pashing a friend of the grooms lol. But i wore a red dress, had my hair straight, nails red and ate vegetarian. I remember the cake being good!

Not everyone who gets married do so in a church, you know!

Regarding what to wear at weddings, there may be some dress codes you might wanna be aware of. A common one for females is that you should not wear a white dress because that is reserved for the bride. Also, wearing a black (symbolizes mourning) or a red (steals attention) dress are also common no-nos.

Wow so that's what I was doing? I have a habit of stealing attention anyway so I probably didn't help myself wearing red.

I plan on having a princess wedding and my dress will be pink. None of this boring white crap!

There was a red dress at our wedding, but I didn't mind. I don't think anyone really cared in a negative way It's probably one of the less dangerous mistakes you could make, if it should be considered a mistake at all.

Oh well, it was my cousins wedding, not my best friend's (who is engaged actually) but I will just wear pink next time. Although I wonder if that is a "look at me" colour?

Gratuitous Compliment # 23,076: You don't need to wear a pink dress for people to be looking at you Jess: they're gonna be looking anyway and more than a few jaws will impact the carpet, I'm sure!

Trollheart, you are the best. I'm very flattered and may have turned pink from blushing! You can be my next wedding partner, how's that?

Ahhh, this is truth Jess!

I normally hate weddings but I'm getting married in January and my inner girly-ness is starting to make an appearance! We aren't getting married in a church either...
