Is it hard to be queer in the Middle East?

what do you THINK

it depends its different from area to area

like in lebanon its not considered to be a mental illness to be gay, in a lot of other places it is

and theres a lebanese band called mashrou' leila. their lead singer is openly gay and lives in lebanon and makes music here and all and talks about it publicly and its fine. for me, its not. i can't just go OH IM GAY and expect everyone to accept that because that won't be the case.

its weird. like with a lot of gay people here... they never SAY out loud that they are gay but everyone just knows it. and no one really cares for the most part.

i don't know what i'm saying but its all very complicated.

portsmouth for university

it was alright, i didn't like the uni so much, i prefer the ones here not that there's anything wrong with them, i suppose i'm just used to studying in arabic?

and everyone was nice, it wasn't really about the people. well except for when i went with my friends to bath and some white guy at the gas station called me al qaeda.

yeah as i was saying it wasn't that there was anything wrong with the place or the people, not at all. i just get homesick so easily so i don't think living abroad is for me.

Did you see much of Bath at all? It is a beautiful city imo.

The south of England in general is quite affluent, leafy and pleasant but is boring and expensive. Anywhere south of Birmingham just turns into one big characterless mush imo. London is the exception but that is shit unless you are seriously rich.
