I took German in college, I work with a lot of Germans at work. I love the language, its just hyper-articulated. To me, Russian is far worse, and as far as unpleasant goes, Arabic/Hebrew is far worse.

But I agree with you on arabic. It's the most ugly language there is.

Actually I have a request for our new German friend.
I mentioned I'm listening to Flaming Bess, which I have to review soon, and there is a lot of German (I assume) talking on it. I'm not asking for a full translation but if I sent you the files do you think you could give me a basic idea of what they're talking about? I don't know if it's meant to be a story, a narration, part of the music, who the people are, anything. But there's a lot of it.

I'd appreciate it, and would namecheck you in the review when I do it.

I love to speak German (though my accent is awful) and hear it spoken. It's a wonderful language once you get past all the tricky grammar. Especially love the long words (though I can't spell them).

Freut mich :) I guess spelling must be really hard, if you learn the language..
but don't worry - there are a lot of germans who don't get it either

she does other languages as well in this video but skip to the end around 2:09 to hear what German sounds like to people that aren't German.
