Music Blogging - What is your view?

Hey guys!
Been recently doing general research on music blogs and how they are received online.
I have two questions and any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

1. Do you believe that the online community would rather read about their favourite artist or go straight to visual and musical content?

2. In terms of video blogging, image and musical content do you agree that social sharing sites like Youtube, Souncloud, Facebook and Twitter are as efficient as blog sites?
