Remember Myspace music forums

It was great, so many people so much music to share, and of course the hilarious drama.

Music Banter is a decent alternative to call my new home I guess. There's a decent level activity here compared to other places I've found.

I had no idea that was a thing since I don't use social media. Sounds like it would be a **** show. Glad you are enjoying yourself here.

HellCell 08-01-2014 08:00 PM

It had to be the biggest forum out there (in general and music). It got defunct in 2012, which was the same year I checked it out, so my experience is limited.

Certain sections of the forum were that ****show you speak of, especially where the topics are sexual.

Didn't even know Myspace had a forum lul.

Myspace though >>>

djchameleon 08-02-2014 02:59 AM

yeah what? I didn't know that existed either.

I miss going onto people's profiles and being bombarded with enough crap to go into an epileptic seizure.

My man Tom ended him with that response lol.

I'm just amazed that MySpace was active in any way, shape or form in 2012.

djchameleon 08-02-2014 06:57 AM

It is currently still active.

They went through a few re-designs and it is more music oriented now.

I'm aware. I said "active" not "existent".

djchameleon 08-02-2014 09:08 AM

Well if it exists there has to be some level of activity. Making it active.

Did you know the Space Jam website still exists?

djchameleon 08-02-2014 09:15 AM

Yep and I am sure it still gets hits because people look it up.

Space Jam is a national treasure.

HellCell 08-02-2014 10:28 AM

@Exo

Well, to give a fair evaluation, yeah there's a thread or two and a couple a posts I find interesting here everyday, but it's not like it's teaming with life.

I heard this forum was a lot more active back in the day and with interesting people. But pre-2010, I wasn't a big music person (just casual listener).

does bandcamp have a forum?
I'm guessing a lot of the artists that originally set up shop on Myspace probably relocated there at some point over the years.

HellCell 08-02-2014 10:55 AM

If it's going to be a non-forum social media I got Facebook for that lol.

Black Francis 08-02-2014 11:03 AM

Wow my space, that's like the first social site i ever used..

A friend of mine had a page for 'Analog studios' a little studio he made to record our friends and all their bands and my first band 'The Black Brigade' was in that roster.

Plankton 08-02-2014 11:11 AM

We used myspace for promoting our shows when I was in Koncrete Pillo. I just looked for our old page and yep, it's gone. I used 'pimp my page' to add BG stuff and music when it first hit the scene, and although it was a bit cumbersome, it did it's intended job. We went all out and had member bio's, along with a pro photo shoot to post up our mugs.

Right, i always liked that feature i remember a friend of mine had the coolest profile song and ive searched for that song but i can never find it! All i remember is him telling me it came from a surf band who wear masks on stage, he told me their name but i forgot it and now i can't find the damn song..
